The rumbling sound intensifies until it seems like there could be as many as 4 additional sources, then stops, a crunching sound echoes throughout the chamber then all is quite.
"Don't even think about going back up there, and count ourselves lucky if they don't follow. I'll tell them personally, assuming we ever see them again, that they need an exterminator."
Yulya catches her breath visibly shaken.
Oh dear who thought there would be hordes of such creatures! I am beginning to suspect Daniella was right. What are we doing here? We need an entire army to conquer this place! If it wasn't for Sir Mormesk I would have called it a day and retreated to Phandain to report...

Yulya I am keeping the ring for now so I an scout! I'll return it as soon as we're done exploring. So stay behind a bit with your tingling armor!
Yulya nods and whispers
Yes please continue to scout!
Yulya goes 5ft  south of Nixie She again relies on her perception to search the area for enemies and traps.

[Time: Thursday, Spring 27, 13:00, 10C Calm]

The dark tunnels and dusty halls are once again quiet. Nothing seems to be coming, so you all agree that the Northwest tunnel is off limits and it's time to explore more of the rest of this developed level.

Alice takes a look at the blocked tunnel again, beams crossing the tunnel seem impassible for anything larger than a housecat or a pseudopod suspended in space, the beams are placed in a strange manner and as Yulya takes a closer look, the walls have been reinforced in all areas except here, large rocks teeter on a hair trigger, this is a large trap, possibly meant to take out a bulette. It is unclear just how much of the area will become impassable rubble if anyone dares go that way. She can just make out a dim light in the passages on the other side.

"I'm not a mine safety engineer, but I don't think it's safe to go that way for anyone. Unless you want to waste half a day backtracking and waking up every mushroom and skeleton from here to level 2."

Alice presses north, followed closely by Cat.

To the Northwest, Alice sees an elevator shaft of older construction, clearly not the same elevator they used. In this case at least, this is the bottom level. The elevator is down but inspecting it further you notice the heavy chains have broken along with one of the main pullies, now off it's shaft and threatening to fall onto the elevator platform, remarkably resembling another trap. The chains dangling on either side of the pully seem to be the only thing keeping it from falling, something large enough to brush against them would have a multi-ton pulley fall on it. Whatever or whoever damaged them may have left them teetering here by accident, or as another trap.

Torches, barrels, long since dried stiff leather and other mining gear rest on shelves just south of this elevator shaft. To the east, a dim light seems to be illuminating the passages. Cat can smell the unmistakable scent of glowstone.
