Ashley please let Beatrice scout the northern corridor if there are enemies. If not we will approach the door. Alice please go see if the door is locked or if you can peek inside!

Ashley directs Beatrice to move North and speaks to what she sees, she looks East then buzzes quickly up a ladder, the sound something like a large beetle but it didn't echo in the cave. She them walked south along another corridor about 10ft up from the ground floor. She passes a large metal pan and crawls up to see it is a water basin filled with clear water. She eventually reemerges on a high ledge above you roughly 10ft up. The ceiling in this area goes up at least another 30ft in a narrow slit likely due to a vein of surface ore long since dug out.

"Oops, I forgot she was so loud! It's clear anyway."

Cat fills the oil into one lantern and packs it up, then moves South to the door with the others as Alice checks if she can peek inside.

Alice uses stealth to approach the door and examine it to see of she can take a look inside through a crevice or keyhole. and to see if it is locked or whether it can be opened.
Cat, use oil from the lamp to lubricate the hinges! We don't want it to creak!

[I presume Cat oiled the hinges.]

As you all speak softly outside the Northern door, goblin-like grunts heard inside the door suddenly stop.

[LUCK 1d4=4]

Alice's attempt to look through the keyhole was successful and inside the northern door she can see beds, chests at least 4 bugbears and at least one winter wolf; at least one bugbear is small at least one is very large and looks intimidating. The wolf's gaze is fixated on the door and the bugbears have noticed something is up. One of them is approaching the door!

[Once again, I ask you where you want to be standing, please state your next moves.]

Alice describes the strange creatures she has never seen before as 'lion-goblins' and notes with dismay that there's another winter wofl.

The wolf's gaze is fixated on the door and the bugbears have noticed something is up. One of them is approaching the door!
Alice backs off and whispers
Oh shit one of the niggers is coming! We were too loud!

Listening in, Cat briefly explains what Alice is seeing are probably bugbears. Her face turns serious. But there is no time to think.
Fall back Nya!

Cat spreads her Caltrops in front of the door and moves N with the others [TBD where]. She enters Rage and readies her bow to shoot the first bugbear that pops out.

We need to get out of here before they smash us!

Yulya casts BLESS on Ashley, Alice and Cat and then EMBOLDENING BOND between Alice and Cat.  Then she retreats with the others

You all move north, laying out your traps for the enemies. The door opens and one's head appears, not seeing the caltrops and bearings, he leans out and looks around. Spotting you, he calls in goblin tongue to relay the situation. He is in the doorway and has half cover.

Cat gains 2 temporary hit points due to Rage.

Let's see what this bow can do, I hope you haven't cheated me on this as well, Daniella!

Then she retreats 10ft N with Cat

[Still part of Round 0]

Ashley rudely rifles through Yulya's pack and finds her focus, then charges it up to 6MP and shoves it at Yulya
"You know what to do, you're immune to Radiant! Get where you need to go and use it!"

[For reference you do not need to throw it this time, and you can boost it to level 3&3/4 which has a very good chance of doing something amazing but also a chance of backfiring.

Ashley directs Beatrice to hold.

Beatrice holds.

Without warning Yulya gets fondled and her focus taken from her belt pouch. She looks at Ashley in terror
Are you serious? This is - i mean - crazy...

After a moment of silence Yulya gulps and whispers
You better close your eyes...

Yulya calls upon a Heavenly Revelation and glowing wings sprout from her back. She flies 20ft S and 5ft SW briefly touching down on the table.  Briefly hesitating Yulya unloads the focus casting SACRED FLAME one the bugbear boosted to lv3 and amplifies it with her Heavenly Revelation and her goblin staff. Then she flies 5ft N and moves another 20 ft N back to the others

[Round 1]

As the bugbear yells for his companions to attack, Cat bestows temporary hit points to Alice. [2d6=8] Then fires off her bow at the creature. She determines this one seems to be carrying 2 scimitars and with his physique, she can tell he would hit extra hard.

Alice similarly aims and fires her new bow at him.

[HIT vs AC16+2(half cover) 1d20+B1d4+EB1d4+1, +3=20, 22]

with magically enhanced guidance, Cat's arrow flies true while Alice's shot similarly hits true.

[DMG Honed 1d8+1+1+1, Poisoned 1d8+3+1d2 (Any additional effects are not triggered as Alice is not a Ranger or Hunter) = 8, 7]

The bugbear flinches as he takes 15 damage.

Yulya calls upon a Heavenly Revelation and glowing wings sprout from her back. She flies 20ft S and 5ft SW briefly touching down on the table.  Briefly hesitating Yulya unloads the focus casting SACRED FLAME one of the bugbears boosted to lv3 and amplifies it with her Heavenly Revelation and her goblin staff. Then she flies 5ft N and moves another 20 ft N back to the others

Expending her Heavenly Revelation and 2MP she puts everything she has into this one magical attack. Managing to glimpse inside she makes eye contact with one of the confused and alerted creatures. The gem begins to glow and Yulya channels the critical energy to the target area she intends. It's energy swells, the ancient magics of the goblin staff begin to vibrate, her own celestial power synergizes as the ritualistic motions and utterances climax...

The target is true, but the casting seemed unstable causing the radiant energy to form a contorted star shape over the area, but most importantly it succeeded in with a significant boost of power from the overloaded gem, swirling Yulya's bright white energy with Ashley's violet hued energy she can feel Ashley's essence as it's cast.

[WILD "If you die within the next minute, you immediately come back to life as if by the Reincarnate spell."] Yulya feels a protective magic surround her, fortifying and pinning her soul to the mortal plane, she doesn't know how or why but she feels a sense of immortality. For the next minute she experiences what it's like to be an immortal god, immune to the withered hand of death himself. Upon being downed, she will immediately rise again with full health suffering no physical effects or wounds but at the end of the minute she will feel the effect of the spell in it's entirety including any accumulated exhaustion both physically and mentally.

Each creature must make a Dexterity saving throw or be engulfed and take 5d8 base radiant damage. Half if the saving throw succeeds. The tempest will ignore cover and obstacles in this area.

Yulya's protected eyes can see the room glow with a brightness greater than the sun and all unclean creatures within writhe in holy light.

-Bugbear1 takes 17 damage, spared from the full brunt by the irregular spread, though in intense pain and stunned momentarily, he remained standing from the blast.
-Bugbear2 sees the light of a god and is struck down, taking 32 damage, he falls where he stood still steaming from the light.
-Bugbear3, the largest of the group, taking 25 damage, is bathed in holy light and is taken down a notch from the experience, but remains standing.
-Bugbear4, taking 35 damage, is unable to withstand the light and falls.
-Bugbear5, the smallest of the group, managed to take cover before the light descended and takes only 12 damage, but was still reeling from the brush with godly energy and is significantly wounded.
-Winter Wolf 1 was partially spared from the blast by it's irregular pattern but was unable to resist the call to rest.
-Winter Wolf 2 was sent to his maker instantly, leaving only slowly dissipating ash behind.

Cat, Alice and Ashley, backing away from the blast, witness the awe inspiring sight surely with revelry as the smell of cooked winter wolf and singed hair fills the mine.

As the flames die down, Yulya can see a pattern of shapes on the walls inside the room, outlines of the creatures once standing are immortalized while the unprotected surfaces have a singed appearance. The cloth of the beds are now ash, and there is a smokeless ember-like glow to the floor.

Yulya makes her escape northward to return to her companions none the worse for the encounter, with her empty focus in hand.

"Now that's how it's done!" Ashley cheers as she sees the carnage wrought by Yulya's risky spellcasting. "I could feel that wild magic, lucky you didn't end up polymorphed or struck with blue hair."

As the light dissipates, Bugbear1, having survived a gauntlet of arrows and magic alike, dazed but undeterred, races north. Unable to see the caltrops nor the ball bearings, he slips and falls on the spiky implements and doesn't get back up, releasing his scimitars onto the floor.

Ashley, bravely steps South and summons her Mechathereal Panther as Beatrice flies into the room to distract the enemies. Nixie, with the bang of a cannon, springs into the material plane and pounces on the largest Bugbear.

The large bugbear is downed and grappled by Nixie, and stops resisting, he also is unable to resist his rest from the brutal attacks.

As the last bugbear's covers flake away in ashes she realizes just what has happened to her companions, all laying singed and/or dead she's struck with the desire to flee but with no way out she attacks blindly striking whatever she can. Randomly picking Nixie, she attacks with her scimitar.

[HIT vs AC12 1d20+4=10] Her wild swing caught only air.

As round 1 ends, just as the celebration begins, the lower door bursts open, with a gruff low voice speaking expletives in goblin tongue, a massive bugbear emerges.

[Round 2]
[Initiative 1d20+2=20]

The massive Bugbear sets his sights on the closest target.

"Ah crap..." Ashley timidly raises her shield as the beast charges her.

He easily closes the distance and takes a swing of his great axe on Ashley.

[HIT vs AC13 1d20+10=24][DMG 3d12+7=34]

Ashley is rendered unconscious, barely avoiding death.

[DEATH SAVE 1d20=12 her first saving throw is successful, she needs two more to stabilize and will die if she fails three times before succeeding three times.]

With an abominable stare, he uses intimidation on the rest of you.

[INTIMIDATION vs STR/CHA 1d20+7=21]

Everyone, even cat, are struck with Intimidation from his stare for this round, you cannot willingly move toward this target and will have disadvantage on all attacks. Nixie and Beatrice excluded.

Nixie and Beatrice both feel the effects of their master's loss of control and attack the closest enemy. Nixie pounces on the small bugbear with Beatrice distracting him.

[HIT CLAW vs AC16 1d20+4+1d4=(11,15)] Nixie swipes but the bugbear dodges her attack.

[Grapple vs STR/DEX +2 1d20+1d4+2=8] The wily bugbear avoids her grip as well.

Yulya looks at the scene in disbelief, frightened by her own power. She almost apologizes before reminding herself she targeted monsters. As always the first thing coming to her mind in such situations - is to run away.

Ashley! In Eldaths name!

With an abominable stare, he uses intimidation on the rest of you.
Too confused to have stopped Ashley from venturing south into her demise Yulya finds herself and her comrades paralyzed by fear. A familiar feeling but this time things are differet. Yulya feels the effect of the wild magic and realizes she is basically invulnerable.

Yulya Nya! We gotta help Ashley Nya!
Yulya feels something unusual. Not exactly bravery but determination. She quickly moves away and up to Cat and tries to cast HEROISM on her when she realizes her Ring of Quick Casting has not replenished. Yulya sighs as her plan crumbles. But there is no going back and no time to think
I need your help Cat! Attack that monster with your bow as soon as I'm behind him so we can flank! Whatever happens do not worry about me! I will be fine! Protect Ashley!

With those words Yulya vanishes into thin air. She closes her eyes then quckily teleports 5ft behind the bugbear with Misty Step. In her heart Yulya knows that monster cannot harm her.

Her confidence vanishes as she looks up at the monster towering in front of her. Though immortal Yulya feels intense fear and almost topples backwards. But this time that wont stop her. Not like with the dragon! As Cat sets up a flank  and shoots her arrrow Yulya casts INFLICT WOUNDS on a lv2 spellslot on the bugbear amplified by the goblin staff and her Celestial Revelation.
Begone in Eldaths name!

[Monday, Spring 24, 18:10, 9C Inside, Calm]

Cat storms to Ashley standing over her body and bestows temporal HP. She attacks the monster in front of her full force with a strike of her Greatsword using Heavy.

[Temporary HP 2d6=7][Ashley is now -5]

[Because you hit before Yulya moves, there is no flank.][HIT vs AC18 1d20+B1d4+EB1d4+6+1-5=19][DMG 2d6+4+1+R2+H10=24]

Cat's risky strike pays off and does significant damage to the beast. Surprised by her (this is when he uses intimidation) he readies himself for a real opponent. "Finally someone worthy of my attention." He says in a broken but legible common.

[Cat is intimidated for 1 round will have disadvantage on her next attack and cannot approach him.]

With those words Yulya vanishes into thin air. She closes her eyes then quickly teleports 5ft behind the bugbear with Misty Step. In her heart Yulya knows that monster cannot harm her. As Cat sets up a flank Yulya casts INFLICT WOUNDS on a lv2 spell slot on the bugbear amplified by the goblin staff and her Celestial Revelation.

Without any buffs to help her but at least not with disadvantage, this is a risky move for her given the beast's high AC, but she goes for the risk as Cat did for the higher damage.
[Magic HIT vs AC18 1d20+5=18][DMG 4d10 necrotic +2 Radiant +3 Natural=13]

No doubt with Eldath's luck she manages to hit the beast but her damage roll is pathetic by comparison. The beast flinches from the draining effect of the necrotic energy and is seared by the radiant light, the fact that Goblin magic was used didn't escape him either.

Intimidated, Alice considers her move.

Seeing Yulya manages to teleport to the bugbear, Alice at least shoots a poisoned arrow at him.

[HIT VS AC18 1d20+B1d4+EB1d4+5=25][DMG 1d8+3+1d2 poison=9][He resisted the poison]

Alice's arrow flies true and strikes him squarely.

Bugbear 5 evades Beatrice with disengage as a bonus action and stands in the doorway within 10ft of his companion inspiring him to attack Nixie with advantage.

[HIT A vs AC12 1d20+4(A)=(6,23)][DMG 2d6+2=7] The bugbear's attack strikes Nixie but she survives it.

Beatrice attempts to grapple the Bugbear [GRAPPLE vs DC12 1d20+2+1d4=CM] She fails to get a grip.

Nixie disengages as a bonus action, backs up and pounces on the bugbear.
[HIT CLAW vs AC16 1d20+4+1d4=CM] The bugbear is just too nimble to hit!

[Round 3]

The bugbear commander reels from being surrounded and disengages as a bonus action

Cat's Sentinel reaction is triggered but she has disadvantage [HIT vs AC18 1d20+7+2d4=(23,16)][In this case the Sentinel ability does not have flank, he can disengage from Yulya first and Alice is on the same side.] Cat misses the opportunity and he moves south of Yulya to attack her with two quick strikes using Multiattack.

[HIT vs AC15 1d20+10=(24,21),(24,12)][DMG 3d12+7=23+20] He laughs at how easily Yulya goes down, but then is shocked by what happens next. To his shock a violet light surrounds her her unconscious form begins to move again and she looks back up at him with violet back-lit eyes. [Yulya is prone but is back at 24HP]

Yulya feels the blow and is momentarily knocked unconscious and then immediately realizes she's fine, surrounded by something that feels a lot like Ashley's energy, though she realizes that this was not a free transaction she gains Minor Curse of Resurrection I.

[Curse of Resurrection carries with it a 10 minute delayed reaction of Exhaustion level 2, Delusion, and -4 to Attack and Saving throws, it cannot be stacked. The minor version is 1/4 of that, Minor Curse of Resurrection 4 becomes Curse of Resurrection. In any case it takes one long rest per minor level to recover, 4 long rests to fully recover from Curse of Resurrection, if revived from unconsciousness the minor version is applied, if resurrected from death, the full version is applied. There is no limit to the number of times the full version can be applied but it has no additional consequence.]

He feels quite confused by it all and hesitates...

[Make your moves, remember Cat is now intimidated but Alice and Yulya's effects have worn off.]
