Seeing Cat's rope come to life and the chick materialize out of nothing, Yulya fears for the worst, but eventually the spell works out as it should. The focus has remained intact and Yulya even gains an unexpected protection. Yulya sighs and speaks a prayer to Eldath - and Ashley.

The Dwarf's soul is successfully drawn back to its old body. He gasps and coughs, then grabs his chest where a wound is now patched.
The light of life returns to his eyes and he looks up at Yulya as if she's a goddess herself.
Yulya bows down an smiles at the man who has returned from death.

Fear not - you are in safety! We are adventurers of Neverwinter. The enemy has been defeated -as unlikely as it may sound. Please relax and slowly drink a bit of soup. Your body is still very weak but you should recover soon.
Yulya hands the dwarf the dwarven mug with Cat's soup. Then she asks Cat to carry him back to the girls and the party settles there for further explanations.

Yulya hands the dwarf the dwarven mug with Cat's soup. Then she asks Cat to carry him back to the girls and the party settles there for further explanations.

The dwarf is exhausted, wondering who has rescued him or where exactly he is, he's near delirious when he's handed a relic of a mug, he considers if he's actually dead but then where are his ancestors? He sips the soup and nearly chokes on it. He does his best to be appreciative but this isn't edible in his estimation. [Could be the dog meat or something else, who knows.]

He wrings his hands in concern. Stained from years of toil with dirt even Alice can't help.

"Adventurers? Did ya happen to see the Rockseekers brothers?"

[For the sake of moving the story along, I must take some liberties]

You give him a smattering of what's happened and why you were hired, his eyes grow wide at times and sad other times once he's heard enough he offers you this, "Nay they wouldn't have hired that Sildar, not that there's anything wrong with Humans, they were likely tricked and I don't trust him far as I can throw him. From what happened to you here, I can only conclude he expected you to be taken as slaves or killed outright. How a young group of low level adventurers managed this is miraculous, check his reaction when you get back to Phandalin, do it in secret and surprise him if you can, I bet you he'll be white as a sheet and not 'happy to see you.'[/i]

He asks for and examines the heart of the mountain, "Aye this isn't Amethyst, it's condensed and purified mithril mineral ore, a gem worth it's weight in mithril just for the materials within, but as an artifact it's value is priceless, it would have taken centuries for it to grow that size. The only other time I've seen these is when they magically condense it to make those oracle spheres the high wizards use to see into the future or whatever they do."

He explains that he was hired to scout the lower entrance that was recently unsealed but when he did he was caught by Nezzner and interrogated for the map but he didn't have it. He thinks Sildar sold the map and that map is like a key to this mine, without it the mine nigh unnavigable. He knew the Rockseekers were off to recover it, but he thinks Sildar may double-cross them. He thinks whoever that traitor sold it to couldn't decipher it and leading the Rockseekers there meant they likely wanted to ambush them and force them to decipher it. He frets for his brethren.

He doesn't know the girls and never saw them before but knows about the Cloaked Wolves and how they're behind the illegal slavery of the region. He figures Nezzner was either their leader or a high ranking official and you've all been marked for death by their organization. He figures they're well funded and working directly with nobility to supply high quality slaves.

[His accusations and conspiracies are deductively interesting but unfounded. Interactions required.]

Unfortunately for dear old Alice, the chick was nothing but a summon from Ashley's wild magic, in 1 minute it grew to full size, spread its wings and poofed out of existence.

Noo! My chick! Damned Ashley, even in death you are mocking me! Yulya-sama! Can't you do anything?
Chick-less, Alice returns to muster the dwarf and her mood isn't the best.

The dwarf is exhausted, wondering who has rescued him or where exactly he is, he's near delirious when he's handed a relic of a mug, he considers if he's actually dead but then where are his ancestors? Alice's eyes narrow upon seeing such disrespect to Cat's grandiose cooking. The dwarf isn't making a good first impression, and when dealing with Alice, good first impressions are crucial for survival.

Alice isn't satisfied with the dwarf's story either, not at all. First of all it lacks two crucial words.

Furthermore there's an utter lack of any introduction or name. Alice circles the dwarf with growing impatience then turns to Yulya and whispers to her.

Yulya-sama! Does this make any sense? No thanks for reviving him, no name, no info on his relation to the Rockseekers. They mentioned nothing of a scout. I agree we've been had but the conspiracy must go way beyond Sildar. Gundren hired us for a rookie mission without mentioning the valuable map he had. And that well-organized bandits controlled the area. Nobody in Phandalin mentioned the cloaked wolves, neither Daran nor Harbin though this guy knows them as well as the bandits we interrogated. And Gundren's brothers sent us here, not Sildar! 25gp for reaching the throne room and clearing the mine. Even though they themselvs consider the mine unnavigable without a map. Rookie scout mission my ass! The whole story stinks! The Rockseekers and especially Daran must have known what was going on here. You read the inscription at the entrance. And this guy was interrogated for the map? Nezzer was already in the throne room. Why would he need it? Even we traversed the mine without danger of getting lost. The whole story with the map is bogus too! This man is obviously hiding something! Be careful!

[Thank yous, hellos, goodbyes, are all implied, as far as name, no one asked, the guy was just dead, I said he's exhausted and probably out of sorts, but go ahead and attack him, see what happens.]

Yulya-sama! Can't you do anything?
Yulya shakes her head in an apologetic way.
If I could I would not have ended up full of grease last time. I have no control over Ashleys Wild Magic and I am not a summoner Alice!
Yulya settles down and eats her share of soup with Cat while explaining and listening to the dwarf.

Yulya has to agree with her alien friend -something definitely is off here. Yulya nervously glances over to the girls. If only they were to wake up, her options would increase greatly....For now Yulya has to rely on her perception as she tries to analyze the dwarfs intentions.
I apologize for the late introduction! I am Yulya- Peace Cleric of Eldath and leader of this party. These are my companions and friends - Cat the Tabaxi Barbarian and Alice the... Alice! We are adventurers of Neverwinter.
Yulya takes out her adventurers plate.

So... Good Sir - what is your name and profession? Are you from Phandalin? What exactly is your relation to Sir Gundren and his brothers? Can you recall your last memories? I do share your assessment that we were lured into a trap here - but rest assured - those responsible will face their rightful punishment. By our- and by the hands of the Gods!
Yulya smiles kindly but stares into the dwarfs eyes and soul as he answers

Nyaa please take it easy Nya! You should eat and drink slowly Nya!  Cat offers the breaded snake for the girls and water.
We also have these rations we made at the guild Nya  - or dry rations if you prefer that Nya! Unfortunately we only have water Nya, the ale is all gone Nya!
Cat assumes the dwarf would neither eat octopus nor Elven Lembas bread. She prepares whatever the dwarf wants to eat while drinking her share of soup. Cat and Yulya have eaten 1/2 rations today, Alice 1 ration.

I apologize for the late introduction! I am Yulya- Peace Cleric of Eldath and leader of this party. These are my companions and friends - Cat the Tabaxi Barbarian and Alice the... Alice! We are adventurers of Neverwinter.
Cat waves her paw from afar
Hello Nya!

With no particular interest in the story, Cat resumes preparing food and checking supplies. She looks at the girls.
Yulya Nya when will they wake up Nya? We must think about returning Nya! And everyone must be in good shape for that Nya! I'd like to move to the elevator as soon as possible Nya! We are 6 now Nya! Our supplies won't last forever Nya, especially with - picky eaters Nya!

[The mine is unnavigable without the map other than the small areas you can reasonably reach from the elevator. The heart of the mountain was not hidden though how M3gan Panther got to it without the elevator is a mystery. Obviously if the elevator was compromised, other than the path you used between certain levels, navigating the mine would be impossible without the map. It is also impossible to further mine it without the map unless you want to get lost and fall down a shaft to your death.]

"That Drow interrogated me, but at first he pretended that he was here working for Sildar. But when I questioned why a human had anything to do with the mine, let alone a drow, that's when he attacked me. He hit me with the sharp end of some kind of staff and I think it was poisoned."

"The Cloaked Wolves have been notorious on the Triboar trail, that's the reason we can't get supplies."

"The lower entrance was suspected open about a month ag.o and that's when I was hired but I had to travel back to Triboar ahead of that to get gear since it's so cold this spring and Phandalin didn't have the supplies I wanted. Speaking of which, did you happen to find a pair of fir lined boots, a large coat and scarf? I had those on... but now I remember taking them off somewhere." He doesn't know where he left them in the mine.

"Have you ever been to Triboar? My sister runs the Stonehill Inn there. I'm Kingir Grista of Triboar." He pats his body and finds a plate and hands it over. It shows he's a citizen of Triboar as a Scoutsman and Miner. "Pleasure to meet you all, sorry I'm still a little hazy, so you were hired by the Rockseekers to secure the mine from something strange and didn't know about the Cloaked Wolves? Frankly I don't know why they holed up in the mine, it's not the safest place without the map. I remember we had to avoid the mushroom people, there was a giant octopus here somewhere and surely you saw the sign about the land sharks. Nasty beasts seem to know where you are even in the black. I wouldn't be surprised if those bandits lost a few of their own to them."

He gladly accepts one of Cat's other offerings that doesn't smell of dog or human.
