And hey, it's not like you need permission to post a thread on Off-Topic.

Go gather some artist friends

Unfortunately, with that comes deviantart and with deviantart comes the ever so famous roleplayers. I'll stick with an Art General thread. Not that important anyway tbh

"Artist friends" doesn't require them to be actual friends, mind you. You could pay some bums to beg us for an art board and we'd buy it.

Challenge accepted. You have one week to make me want an art board.

Today, we took a field trip. I was with people I didn't know, but I suppose it was alright when they didn't know me, either. I couldn't be as quiet as I wanted to, but I do not think I seemed strange.

I carved some wood. I have never done that before, so I was really excited to try. It wasn't as hard as one might think. Holding a knife in my left hand felt really good and natural, which might sound a bit strange, haha. I suppose you shouldn't try to play around with knives like that, but it was easy to use that way, as well. But if I wanted more force behind my hand, I would switch to the right one. It makes a lot of sense to switch your hand when you have to carve some tricky part you can't do safely with your other hand. I think wood carving would be an excellent hobby, haha.

Oh, and I ate pancakes.

It was quite strange overall. You may laugh at me, but I was born in an urban area. This is where I have lived my entire life. We went to a very rural area, and it was so quiet. If you didn't move or say anything, it was just so silent. It was almost as if I was deaf, until I spoke and could actually hear something again. There is constant noise all around me where I live. I had not even considered a place could be so quiet. No birds, no wind, no water. No humans or cars, of course. No music. Very strange.

Roswell, what did you carve out of the wood?

Roswell that sounds pretty awesome. I think we all would enjoy a trip like that. I've been lucky enough to be around a lot of nature and secluded places throughout my short time on earth, but I seriously do appreciate them when compared to the noise level of the city.

Nate's dad likes to go star gazing, like legit away from lights and cities and everything. Nate went when he was younger and said it was one of the most incredible experiences. We're hoping to get in on one of those trips this year. Spend some time forcing and relaxing and just being out and about.

I'm not quite as much of an introvert as Kate or Giselle are, but I am just excited to get out in the wild. Gets me excited.

Wood carving is something Kate wanted to do when she was younger but never got to learn. It sounds pretty rad.

Roswell to English dictionary
I carved wood: I shaped a piece of wood with a knife until it was nice and smooth. It doesn't even count as abstract art.

but I seriously do appreciate them when compared to the noise level of the city.

Noise is good. Eerie when there's like, no sounds. It's always such a relief to get back here, home is always home. Fuck da nature #edgy #yoloswag

Speaking of stuff that has been done, lemme attentionwhore this time. I hang out with hippies so I was given a piece of clay and told to sculpt my TOTEM ANIMAL. So I did. Just started doing whatever, it ended up looking sort of Jabba the Hutt-ish. I think that represents my inner self perfectly, really.

I like shaping stuff and carving wood and shit. I once used one of those grinder things to shape a stone into a sort of "halfpipe-ish" shape. It was great fun. Around the same place I did that, I go snowboarding sometimes, which is fun.
Anyone who disagrees are dumb. I am correct hence you are wrong.

Carving wood looks really cool to me, but I'm not very good with my hands--as much as I'd like to be. I guess practice makes perfect, huh?

Hey, if the dweeb can not hurt himself when he's never carved anything out of wood before and even did it with the wrong hand...

Then again, my mom would always tell me the story about how her brother/uncle/neighbor/I have no idea would carve wood and she really wanted to try, but he didn't let her. Then when he left, she went in and took the knife and some wood and managed to slit open her thumb.

But she's kind of stupid.
