On a message board, posting something irrelevent on a really old topic to bring it to the top of the list topics is called "necroposting". This name comes from the fact that you are bringing it back from the dead, thus necro, such as necromancy, the art of bringing someone back from the dead. Typically found in nerdy shit like Dungeons and Dragons.

If there are hardly any new topic, is it really necroposting? Discuss.

No. Besides, necroposting for a good reason is almost always allowed and we even suggest you do it rather than make a new topic about the same thing. We hope our users use the search function and then post in the old thread, even if it has been 3 months since the last post. Use your necromancy on anything you feel is worth it. Others might disagree with your choice, but such is life. Especially if it's something you really need to say or know, posting in old threads is a-okay in my eyes.
