Moderation problems. The past on the other site has been one bumpy ride. A lot of not caring and strict punishments for those who dare to oppose those in power. Hugboxing that defeats the purpose of a community like this. No transparency and a lot of secrets on the moderation side, working against certain users because they're disliked. Ban-happy folks that dislike opinions if they hurt someone's precious little feelings, even if they are valid concerns. No respect for the users.
It's gotten a lot better these days because now .info actually has some mods who actually care about the state the website is in. And it's funny how that started happening after this website was created. They do know of us and might see us as a threat, so if that actually motivates them to work harder then I'm glad. There's still a long way to go and as far as things are handled the way they are over there, I doubt the moderation situation will ever get truly good. We can hope, but...
That's what we are trying to fix. We're not the only ones with complaints, but we don't do a lot of advertising. I guess if things go really bad over on the other tupper site, we can lend the users a hand and show that there's another place to go to if they so choose. A new beginning with people many seem to trust in power. We can always become just as bad as .info, but we're going to at least try. This far everything is open so I'd say that's a good start, and we do actually listen to our users and work out the problems with them. Couple of mods do that on .info now and that's great, but it wasn't that way when we started out.
Not sure if that answers a lot and you seem to be a bit of a newer guy seeing that I don't know who you are, so it's possible you haven't seen it yet. Or that you have had the pleasure to work with the mods who actually care. I hope that continues for you, we've had to fight way too much in the past and we're pretty tired of it, heh.
