I spent half the night fiddling with the inventory. Now everyone carries a bag or barrel which can be dropped to become un-encumbered. Sorry but the girls have to carry their 20 lbs each and Kingir gets Ashley's shield. I left a lot of food and the dwarven property Alice wanted to loot behind and it barely was possible.

40lbs would help a lot. Ashley's ore samples are only 12lbs.
I assume the dwarf will be a gentleman and also carry at least a minimum. We should be good. I'll publish an updated inventory until tomorrow

[Please officially restate all the improvements you gain by leveling to 5 here, Cat, I would like you to choose an alternate feat that you can use immediately, you will be allowed to swap them later if you choose, include all changes from your leveling, HP gain, proficiency gain, etc. I will incorporate only these changes so don't forget anything.]

Oh wait, should we roll dice for HP gains? Did we ever do that during previous levels?  I think we did for 1->2 but surely not when we leveled up 3->4.

As Barbarian, Cat will gain an extra attack and fast movement. Just like Alice she has 2 attacks and 40ft movement now.

Like her Smith's tools proficiency, it's useless for now because Cat doesn't have the tools.
If you really dislike Polearm Master and don't let Cat trip over a polearm weapon she finds in the mine, she'll take Tough for now. This will give her +10 HP and +2 HP every time she levels up. A bit boring though.

Even when rested? We, especially Alice, will freeze to death at this speed.

And I think you slightly underestimate the weight problem.
140 lbs - sacks WAR and Peace in the elevator
120 lbs - barrel medium floor
215 lbs - barrel top floor

This does not include the unknown amount of scrap metal and dwarven bronze ore we found, as well as 2 beer barrels, all stored at the entrance. Even without them there's a minimum additional weight above encumbrance of 475 lbs
More realistic is 500 -600 lbs.
With one level of encumbrance, the party can carry an additional 300 lbs and is reduced to 2mph. The girls and dwarf would have to carry close to 100 lbs each. And there are no suitable containers like backpacks. rolling a 150 lb barrel through the snow doesn't sound fun.

I give Sherlock Dwarf the benefit of just having returned from the dead and being a dwarf in general, but he was a bit too eager to shift the blame away from the dwarves instead of telling about himself, or asking about us.

Cat looks at the desecration of an enemy's remains with disdain and sighs. Eating a defeated foe to gain his strength is one thing and even a gesture of respect, but this is just bad comedy.

Mormesk looks at his hand with some curiosity then casts minor mirror image and an exact duplicate faces him. He stares at it for a few seconds, then casts Greater Lasting Major Image and before your eyes the terrifying and unnatural symbol of death, the undead ancient lich you know as Mormesk, is transformed into a young man wearing fine nobility clothing from a bygone era. Gold thread and exquisite fabrics not seen for centuries adorn him and though his attire may seem out of place, his look is far from the abomination he once was.

Cat stares t the transformations with an open mouth.

Her keen senses still detect that there is something off with this human - or rather undead pretending to be human.t least no reason to be afraid anymore. Cat steps forward from behind Yulya and musters Mormesk with curiosity.

A fully dressed M3gan arrives wearing Ashley's pack and bows to Mormesk and addresses Alice, "They're not dead, I've secure them safely." M3gan tells you where to find them.

Never having fully gotten the demigoddess thing, for Cat Ashley is back and all is well.

She picks up one of the mithril coins and hands it to her symbolically, then hands over Ashley's pack and a few other items. "I know Ashley would have wanted you to have this, I can't claim it.[/i]

Cat looks around in utter confusion, unable to follow the conversation but senses that her comrades feel something very bad has happened.
