Cat raced and pranced around on the street like crazy. There are barely any cars but still its dangerous. No idea what she was chasing, probably a tiny insect. Also it looks like the cats have acclimatized and are now frequently outside again at night. When it got cold they barely went out for a while.

Did you expect me to draw them?
You displayed the bags on the platform when we found them - so yes! Also we should name them like the mules. They're important party members now.

So this is your private business!? Bear Sex mattresses...

It just runs amperage through the coils near it, they showed the amperage and voltage, it's that simple.
It aligns the dipoles when in a powerful magnetic field
Now you're just making up random words. Next you wanna tell me you can do that to entire ships and submarines.

Are you actually reading our posts and the inventory?
After all is finished, Alice and Cat move the two heavy bags with equipment into the elevator.
We have 2 sacks, one with food, 42 lbs and one with equipment, 66 lbs.

Everyone sees that glimmer of light grow until it's no longer dark and you've arrived at another well built level very similar to the one you left, Wooden platforms and false floors hiding long since chased ore veins and passages to deeper into the depths of the mined drafts. Glowstone lanterns glow happily along the walls. Again there are tones of supplies and ore barrels near the elevator. The Western wall of the shaft chamber has collapsed shelves and a mass of broken supply crates recently opened. The Dusty kegs that were neatly stored have fallen and partially spilled out, whether intentionally or not, onto the floor. A strong scent of dwarven ale hangs in the air. It hangs so thick that flame light may not be the best option here.
Cat feels the elevator hit a stop, and it's now at level two ground level. It won't budge lower.
Alice looks around.
Hmm, I imagined this mine to have several deeper levels, but that the first one already is this deep is unexpected. Does that mean we can't go lower with the elevator?

It feels utterly deserted other then the footsteps in the dust just off the platform. The steps are a mix of humanoid boots and another more ominous set of prints. Vaguely humanoid, larger than a orc, and with clawed toes.
The footprints as well as a slight odor sparks Yulya's memory of old tomes she once studied and well understood by the church, these are ghouls.
Alice listens to Yulyas description with interest,
Ghouls? Never heard of it. Do they have ears? Sounds like what happened to the Men of Iron...
They're undead but still have a physical body, right? Any weaknesses? If they can't stand light, we should carry light sources. Can you give me a light rock, Yuyla?

Alice again takes rear guard.
Cat goes in front and you two in the middle. No running off into certain death, Ashley!

There was a scuffle here not too long ago, traces of blood run off in all directions.
Alice inspects the traces and tastes the blood to determine if it is human
Cat can you tell what happened here? Where did they go?

"It looks like the levers are set to rest the elevator on this level. I don't know if that means the bandits stopped here or were stopped by something."
Alice grins.
Well, I hope so! I hope they were eaten by those ghouls!

Host is not a zoomer. We watched the entire video. It appears reasonable as far as magnets go. I liked the Swastika pattern of the mould. And no, nobody understands the machine that actually switches the magnets on after casting. It's long forgotten arcane technology only kept running by prayers to the mechatherial goddess.

Exactly.
I am missing our 2 precious bags on the elevator! Now we gotta decide where we go. Does that mean we can return to the elevator and go up a bit to rest in safety?

You can have Mein Kampf in Germany, you can even buy it as 'commented version'
We used to have the real deal, couples received a copy for their wedding and so did host's grandparents. But it disappeared at some point after they died. A shame. We still have their NSDAP party badge though.

Hey! And just when I was thinking you're being nicer lately!
Ha, you know exactly what to do if you want me to be nice.
I'm generally nice but refusing to participate in anything on purpose doesn't increase my niceness. Not that I didn't expect it. I accept this is the way you are. So accept that teasing you is the way I am. It doesn't mean I don't like you. You would notice if I didn't like you. And I'm happy you're back. So I can tease you. It didn't work with that mecha goddess who can control me.

Keep dreaming, I'm just an ore mule, not a prospector. Harbin wanted representative samples, their location is classified and released only by a Rockseeker or other mine owner.
Fair enough not to reveal the location but why does Harbin need ore samples from us at all? We're not miners. He should ask the Rockseekers, not adventurers. I question the whole purpose. You know I was always skeptical to deliver ore samples of someone else's mine without a clear OK from the mine owner. But I acknowledge he will pay us money and didn't ask for the exact sampling location. I'm still not happy about delivering half-assed results. It insults my sense of perfectionism. To generally carry out a given task with maximum effort and at the highest standard. We're not ordinary adventurers. We're the NPWC.

I'm not Ashley, it wasn't necessarily about me, I just wanted to know what the ore is and for how much it would sell.
Also I do expect Ashley to give a detailed report of each sampling location. She volunteered for this and brought it upon herself.

I updated the inventory. Kashtan indeed labeled number and weight of the torches we found as 'lb'.
We have 2 sacks, one with food, 42 lbs and one with equipment, 66 lbs. About arrows, Cat has one quiver, I have two. I have distributed the arrows like this:
CAT
1 Quiver [20]
4x blunt
5x poisoned 1D4
11x honed
------------------------
Backpack:
20x arrows

ALICE
2 Quivers [40]
4x blunt
5x poisoned 1D2
5x poisoned 1D4
16x honed
10x arrows

Alice memorizes the peculiar taste and swallows another hand full.
Not bad, complex composition, rich in rare earth trace elements! This stuff should be useful!

Ashley looks through her bag frantically and finds the ore, it's beautiful green and blue hue with glints of orange clearly indicates copper. "Oh nice, wait WHAT!? You mean I need to document where it's found?"
Then she gets a knowing look on her face and nods with a smile as Alice tries to give her the ledger but she pushes it back at her.
"Duh, Harbin already knows that. Leave the questing you your big sis Ashley." Refusing Alice's ledger and offer of alcohol, Ashley pats Alice on the head then heads over to the elevator to make sure she can work it.
Alice rolls her eyes at this predictable outcome and downs her own cup, Yulya's and Ashley's.
More for me, I expected nothing else. Too bad the barrel is so heavy, I'd also have taken this with us!

Alice looks at the ledger and hands it to Yulya.
This is supposed to be worth 15 gp? What a joke. In any civilized world this would be expendable material for children worth a few coppers. Actually way too valuable for Ashley's doodles...

Alice decides to take her own notes on paper before Ashley tells Harbin she collected samples 'somewhere in the mountain'. After all is finished, Alice and Cat move the two heavy bags with equipment into the elevator.

Are we all set? I hope it's worth going down there instead of letting them all starve. And by 'worth' I of course mean ear-wise!

Thanks, I needed that!
Don't forget I have that vest of protection +1AC!

Damn I really wanted to give Ashley that ledger, actually for her trades, but you beat me to it. Also I ate the bronze hued ore to find out what it is but got no reaction!

I told you from the beginning it's not worth investing too much money in such an old car, didn't I?

Alice looks at the items Ashley found. She tries to analyze the bronze-hued ore, tossing a few scraps of it in her mouth like popcorn and probes it like a sommelier tasting fine wine.

Oh yeah Ashley!
We found that copper ore sample you have within the giant ooze we defeated. Composition-wise it may be a valid ore sample for Harbin but it lacks provenance. Meaning we have no idea where its unfortunate former owner that got eaten got it from. Which makes it pretty worthless. We gotta document where exactly we took the samples and write it down. The paper will be useful for that. It's better than nothing but if we find another source of copper ore, we should substitute this sample with one of documented collection location.
Alice still isn't convinced about Ashley's qualifications as ore prospector.

The ale barrel peaks her interest
Wouldn't count that worthless!

She hands out freshly Alice-cleaned cups to everyone
Cheers! To more dead enemies and harvested ears!

Alice proceeds to hone more arrows and produce poisoned ones  from the cooked blast component in the remaining time.
Help me hone more arrows, Cat! We got a lot!
