I don't really care for movies. At all. I dunno, I prefer doing instead of watching.

Don't think I really got favorites or anything. I have watched a few with the tupper, though. I think the first one we ever watched together was that fucking Seth MacFarlane movie with the talking teddy bear or something, when I was forced to go to the movies. I guess it's a pretty interesting one to watch with a tulpa if you look at the idea instead of the shitty jokes. Literally shitty jokes, mind you. Also watched some Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends movie once, it's kind of funny to watch something about imaginary friends with your tulpa. Try it.

No wait, Meet the Feebles is the best movie, watch it. And Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Questions and Answers / Re: Tulpa complaining about not having energy
« on: October 01, 2013, 04:53:52 PM »
Abandon thoughts that he's not "strong" or "energetic" enough. Both of you, especially him. If there's one thing that's surprised and helped us a lot, it's just how full of determination my tulpa is. He might not seem that way to most of you, but man, when he starts doing something, he does it. Failure isn't an option, he'll just keep trying until he does it. And what do you know, he often does it. How? Just by doing it, because he wanted to. It's the mind, there's no magical buttons you can press to make stuff happen. It's just willpower.

Your mind plays a big part in, well, all these mind things. That's what all this is about. Your mind and how much you can shape it youself by just willing it to happen. Don't think you can't do it, know you can do it. You might want to take a look at how positive affirmations really do affect your mind.

Maybe forcing more would help you to feel it better? Do some mental workout to get those mental muscles in shape. Maybe I shouldn't mention that it probably is just symbolism, but if symbolism helps you to think you can really do it, then it's good symbolism in my eyes. If there really is a thing about tuppers not being "strong" enough because they are too young or something, then forcing more should fix that, too.

General Discussion / Re: Form/personality descriptions after vocality?
« on: October 01, 2013, 01:17:32 PM »
Also an interesting thing you say about forms being separate from the personality. One of my tulpas changes forms quite often, and has even taken some object forms as opposed to living things, and she told me that forms are just there for show. Perhaps I shouldn't try to connect the two so much.

That's a healthy attitude to have, really. It's an imaginary form you can change just like that. Nothing special, hope other people would realize that too.

For the other stuff, yeah. The more you draw something, the easier it becomes. No need to wait when you can doodle already. If you can, drawing them from multiple angles is some great stuff. It might be hard to imagine the tupper spinning if you visualization skills are bad, but if you have the "key frames" so to speak, you can later easily learn how to fill in the blanks. I'm not that much of a writer myself, so I can't really give tips about helping you visualization that way. I draw first, write later.

Really, just a skill you gotta learn and practice. Keep at it, it's good to hear you're making some kind of progress.

Tulpae is still a nonsense word that means nothing.

Also >implying I am into sports. Come on, I gotta keep my flabby figure. Watching is even worse. Buuuut I guess swimming might be my thing, I like water. My swimming just can't be called a sport.

Seconding Morrowind. Man do I love that game. Sure it's a bit clunky and ugly, but some of that can be modded away. But it really is the world I fell in love with, something the later games haven't quite replicated yet. The people, the culture, all of that. It felt like a really hostile world that hated me, something alien and not your average generic European medieval fantasy world. I'll never forget my first trip from Seyda Neen to Balmora. It was dark and raining. All those weird sounds around you... Man, it just sent chills down my spine.

I see the form pretty separate from the personality, really. I live with someone who looks really old, but he is still pretty young at heart. Very immature and oblivious, far from how one would think he should act. And I sure as hell didn't force those traits in, believe me.

For visualization, I did doodle and study his form on paper first. Not only did it help me to understand how he was made much better, it was easy to just think back to the images I drew earlier if I found his form to go blurry or I was losing track and couldn't get it back. He's a bit different now, but early on they were a great help seeing that I was still learning.

I think that something drawn would be better than something written so you can look back to something you actually see, but some people are better writers. Maybe you can see your words easier, so it would still work out very well. But for me, drawing definitely takes the cake.

Also remember to bring sound into this, didn't you say you had good sound imagination somewhere or am I thinking of some other dude? Use your stronger senses to help with the weaker ones.

General Discussion / Re: Tulpae Awareness
« on: October 01, 2013, 10:10:24 AM »
You can change the topic title yourself and I suggest you do it. Tulpae is a nonsense word that means nothing.

Right now, I'd say tuppers are dangerously close to mainstream, but because of the heavy advertising done before, the community (all the possible tulpa communities meant by that) is... Well. Let's say that it grew too fast and no one was willing to limit the direction it was growing. Sometimes a good thing, not so good when you get some pretty special people joining the different tulpa communities. Tulpas aren't something you want to show anyone anymore, really, so it's better if this stayed out while it's still in such a shitty state. The most used tulpa websites are full of horrible and immature people, some don't even actually believe that a tulpa is something more than a roleplaying character yet say they have one and let their "tulpa" (read: themselves playing a role) speak online. That sure doesn't hurt us in any way, nope.

The best case scenario would be to truly make this into something scientific. But there's not really anything we can do to help that ourselves, unless one of you is made of money. I guess the best thing we can do right now is to create a good community that is full of good information and doesn't make you cringe as you read the stuff posted. Maybe then I'd feel better about sharing tulpas with other people.

But now, a lot of pretending has to be done online and in real life so we don't seem crazy. That's one of those things I would like to see changing, for my tupper's sake. But right now, it would only go in a worse direction if tulpas went super mainstream.

Announcements / Subaccount switch update & Core theme error fix
« on: September 29, 2013, 08:50:04 AM »
Hey everyone, little announcement for you all.

The Tulpa Network banner for both Headline (the default) and CoalBlack theme caused some trouble for people whose browsers didn't suppot Viewport, causing the banner sort of go on top of the links and subaccount switch drop-down menu. We felt that the subaccount switching is such an important feature of our forums that it should be accessible to everyone regardless of browser. Having two of the drop-down menus was conflicting, so we changed its position below the banner. It hopefully shouldn't cause anyone problems now.

If anyone wonders why Headline was changing so often or why the subaccount switching didn't work on it earlier today, that's the reason. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Core and Curve theme remain unchanged. Earlier today there was some kind of problem with Core, but it should be fixed now. Hopefully it didn't cause too many problems for you all. Headline and CoalBlack are the "supported" themes, so sometimes problems with Core and Curve can go unnoticed. Please report problems if you're using those themes, that will be invaluable.

Remember, if you find bugs, don't be afraid to use the Forum Discussion board or contact waffles to report problems. Giving him the exact error messages and telling him what theme you're using will be a great help in getting it fixed.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience we might have caused you and a big thank you for waffles for fixing these things. Right now the help images for subaccounts are a bit out of date as they use the original position, but we'll update those later. Don't be alarmed if the pictures look different compared to the actual placement. (should look right now!) I am hoping this is what will work for everyone and is a good compromise between looks and functionality.

If someone really thinks that the new placement of the switch account menu is horrible and Tulpa Network is ruined forever because of it, I can always try to force waffles to work more... Just don't tell him.

Mind you, you can only click on the edge if you are using Headline theme. On CoalBlack, the position is different and it doesn't work.

We're (well, waffles really) playing around with this, but don't hold your breath.
