Yes he's like. Mraaw and headbutts and I pet him and he waits until I follow him to his kitty tower so he can scratch it and I pet him some more. Then I sit on the bed and he jumps on the bed and purrs and headbutts, so I scratch him.

Animals are weird about knowing when you come home. Sometimes they start freaking out when you're not even that close yet.

What do your cats think of Christmas? Exciting or rather scary?
Mine loves lurking in the dense twigs under the christmas tree and sometimes bats around low-hanging decorations. But has never broken anything or attempted to climb the tree. Burning candles and sparklers are a bit of a concern as they have to be inspected thorougly. Every goddamn year. Luckily whiskers tend to regrow rather quickly.

I don't add fire to places with cats. Also I don't celebrate Christmas.

Sounds boring.
Cat has been on fire several times, smells terrible but luckily there were no injuries. The fur is thick. Still hasn't learned anything from it and thinks all sorts of flames are fascinating. Generally you're right but the cats in my area are nearly semi-feral animals that can and will go wherever they please. Can't lock them in and create a safe space for them, they have to be able to deal with the harsh real world out there. They're free, and freedom is dangerous.

Well that's completely on you. You can teach a cat to stay indoors and provide them what they need, like exercise and activity. Because hey, every time they get hurt, it could have been prevented and it's your fault for letting something that doesn't seem to understand things like consequences to roam around freely.

"I can't do that" is just a cheap cop-out for wussies who aren't prepared to take it to the end.

You're the hero cats need and the one they deserve, Sands.

My cats just got extra pets on Christmas because there were more people. If they were inside catterinos I'm sure they would have knocked some things over and attacked some feet, though. At least the young one would have.

Tink, the aging white one, though? No. His time is past. A long time ago he was all like hey new cat for now you are raised inside until the hunger for the wild lands takes you. Stare into my eyes through this glass door, and learn my ways. And then he did and learned exactly how to be the most needy cat ever and for one Christmas, I believe, was an inside cat and he scratched things and rolled on things and probably smelled like cinnamon. My guess, anyway, not sure if he was already outside last year.

The young one is getting his first winter coat, though. His tail is so fluffy and he's becoming fat, it's absolutely wonderful. The old cat just.. Put his winter coat on a couple years ago and never took it off.

My cat slept next to me because it was too cold inside.

Cat caught a big mouse today!
Then proudly carried it around like a dog carrying a bone
Went for a walk with cat to prevent her from taking the mouse apart in my living room. Cat is good dog and walks next to me on the street, still carrying the trophy
Mfw people look at us like what the hell, you'd think they've never seen a guy walking his cat that's  carrying a mouse

mfw cat looks like pic related

Still it doesn't work because assumption #2 is wrong. Cat doesn't always land on feet at all.
Yesterday cat fell off chair while sleeping and crashlanded sideways. So much for the graceful predator.
Gave me a nasty look as if it was my fault
I did laugh though

Toast doesn't insist on landing the butter side down, we just carry it at at a height that pretty much always causes it to fall down that way if we drop it: if you carried it or manipulated it butter side down, it would fall butter side up. If you're very tall, you wouldn't have the problem because the bread has enough time to flip over the other way.

Cats need enough time to be able to flip onto their legs, too. They also need enough time to brace for impact, which doesn't make the highest floors the most dangerous for cats. The lower floors tend to be worse, because the drop is high enough for the cat to sustain damage, but not high enough for the body to prepare itself and mitigate damage.
