Did you catch your dragon already Nya? We're also dragon hunting now Nya let's see who gets one first Nya oh you know Summer Nya?

The guard, after speaking to Summer, returns to your nyas, "Dragons can be quite illusive, but the most dangerous ones are not, only metallic dragons can shapeshift on their own, the most noble and beautiful, the silver, then gold, platinum, copper, bronze, brass, mercury, electrum, steel and others that are exceptions such as song dragons, for the most part are good. So I wouldn't even be concerned with 'catching' one, not all the guards agree that we should even try. Though gold dragons can be quite annoying at times, and copper dragons can be pranksters, they mean well, though the iron dragons could be evil, they typically aren't. Gem dragons mostly exist in the inner planes and abhor the petty wars mortals wage. The chromatic dragons, however, are evil, they're dull and feral, they'd rather kill on sight than shapeshift for any political or civil reason. Talking to them or trying to convince them to do as you will may work on a wyrmling, but if you see an adult chromatic dragon, it's kill or be killed, they don't bother to deceive anyone, they can't shapeshift typically, and their hedonistic appetite must be sated at all times. That 'snow' dragon Summer has concerned herself with is likely a white dragon, and though rumor has it that the climate has been affected by the dragon, I sincerely doubt the dragon alone is responsible. Now as for Summer, I wouldn't underestimate her abilities, and I wouldn't worry about her motives, but her methods and agendas are beyond me."

"Gold dragons are the most majestic, kind and beautiful of all dragons," Summer adds.

"Ha! Silver dragons are all that and longer lived, and more so because they avoid combat. Much more can be done in the comfort of a ready room than on the battlefield. So no, we haven't caught any nor will we, I find the whole matter ridiculous, it's a witch hunt where the witch has the upper hand."

Nyaa we only have veggie rations left Nya! Let us spice it up with some bread Nya and a piece of honeycomb as dessert Nya!
Yulya nods
Yes of course! We should celebrate our return tro Neverwinter accordingly! Please use the goods we acquired as you see fit!

Yulya shrinks and turns paler with every word of the guard and begins muttering to herself
Dragons - why must it be dragons? We can't kill an adult dragon thats impossible! Who do they think we are? Heroes or something? We are dead in the first seconds of such encounter! Even Alice if it is about cold and ice. We even struggle with a few bandits or goblins! Cant it just be convinced to go somewhere else? Where it is cold already? So everyone can be happy?

As Alice races off, Cat turns to Yulya
We should go to the guild Nya Alice will catch up with us later I guess Nya!
Yulya envies Alices carefree attitude but cant help to smile for a moment
Yes let us do that!
We need to tell Freya everything!

Cat listens to the dragon lecture with interest
Nyaa you know a lot about dragons Nya is this mandatory for guards Nya? And you're that close to Summer Nya? What a small world Nya...

Cat however has absolutely no interest in getting sucked into any noble affairs and retreats with a greeting, ignores Alice's nonsense and follows Yulya to the guild.

[Conversation with the guard]

Nyaa you know a lot about dragons Nya is this mandatory for guards Nya? And you're that close to Summer Nya? What a small world Nya...

The guard eyes you, "Dragons are noble creatures, wise well beyond the petty mortals of this realm, but those chromatic cousins are nothing more then a nuisance, besmirching the great name of dragonkin. If you are able to take out that usurper, you'll instantly gain the respect of any guard of any town and that includes me, Tabaxi." She then gives a signal for you to move along and enter.

Summer looks up at you and says with a twinkle in her eye, "It's just a white dragon." Happy with herself for alleviating all the stress and worry, she then excuses herself, "I regret that we must part for now, I have errands to run, I need a copy of my identification made, I have a letter for the Queen of Neverwinter, and I need to talk to Eltoora Sarptyl, the guild master of the Many-Starred Cloak in the Cloaktower, as I have an offer of a tome from Imaskar. I know she'll appreciate that as I need to borrow the ring of dragons and the amulet of draconic might. With those in conjunction with my own skills, that dragon will be quite distracted. Then I just need a few heroes..." She points at you all. "...to take him out. You know, slaying a dragon has many perks. First of all, you'll be able to be legitimately called 'dragonslayers', second, you'll be renowned and infamous in many circles and marked untouchable by petty lowlifes such as bandits and thieves because you'll get a special tag."

Her smile fades and she states, "I want one."

"I also need to track down my carriage, so we must part ways for now, but please do meet me in Phandalin after you take care of clearing out that mine of yours and I guarantee you'll be true heroes."

[Possible Interactions]

[Indeed this will count as your "heroic act" requirement for level 4 advancement and the proceeds from selling the various items associated with the dragon carcass will be more than enough to pay the 1000sp fee (each) to get the silver plates. Those plates will be special, once it's confirmed you aided in slaying a dragon, your plates will forever be indicative of that fact at a glance. This will give you certain clout and will help the main questlines. So I highly recommend it. Feel free to ask Brutus or his team if you want to know more about how to slay a dragon as they're the only other members of the guild you know who have 'dragonslayer' status. Also, the mine is located 7 miles Northeast of Phandalin. The crash site is 10 miles further Northeast from that.]

"My intuition is telling me it'll be difficult, but I want to do it." Ashley says to Yulya. "So let's level, then I want to get my trade license if I can and then we can sell the stuff for more tomorrow." [With a trade license, 20% is automatically added to anything sold at shops, so an item that is new quality will sell for .8x it's value instead of .6x and so on.]

With that settled you make your way back to the Adventurer's guild.

The beauty and majesty of Neverwinter never ceases to amaze, once inside the gate you can gaze out over the city, there in the distance is the castle, and the Cloaktower (the wizard's guild) amid temples, spires and buildings of nearly every shape and size. Even on Sunday the hustle and bustle of people going about their business is a stark contrast to the lonely roads of the Sword Coast.

Through the market and past the various shops, all but the inns closed for the day, you make it past the bulletin boards and familiar posters, you pass beggars and dirty children, free to loiter while the shops are closed, and take the turn to your second home, the Adventurer's Guild.

[13:00 Sunday, Spring 16th, Sunny, 18C]

The clocktower rings one o'clock as you step inside and are somewhat surprised to see it empty though it's not unexpected on a Sunday. You are greeted by Elizabeth, one of the hostesses of the guild.

"Welcome back adventurers! I remember you." She pulls a chair at one of the tables close to the kitchen and says, "sit, I have leftovers for you, if you're still hungry, on the house. Will you be needing lodgings tonight?"

"Thanks and hi, so um where's Freya?"

"She's off on personal matters but she'll be back tomorrow morning bright and early. You might catch her sooner, she'd never able to stay away even on her day off."

[You've made it to the guild without incident, what will you do next?]

Yulya frowns at this glorious and without doubt absolutely insane plan to take down a dragon, biting her lip. So it is either death or fame - but most likely death.
Yulya ponders what would be worse...
I am glad we could safely bring you to Neverwinter!
Will you be alright on your own? Not that I doubt your skills but regardless of that you are still a child and we dont want to be held responsibl... I mean we are worried about your safety! Take care!
You will find us at the guild!
Yulya says her farewell and proceeds to the guild with Ashley and Cat

"My intuition is telling me it'll be difficult, but I want to do it." Ashley says to Yulya.
Certainly what other choice do we have? We need to get Alice to her ship...

I can report we returned safely though with an unfinished quest. We shall give our full report to Freya. A lot has happened.
We would gladly take your offer for a meal and request a room for the night!
Oh, one more thing - could we leave our belongings at the guild? We are packed to the brim.

Yulya turns to Ashley
Let us eat and take a short rest, then try our luck at the trade guild. There is not much to do so we shall accompany you.

Cat is momentarily overwhelmed by the scents and sounds of the city.
Nyaa I do not even know how it's on a busy day!

At the guild Cat greets Elizabeth hand gladly takes the offer for lunch.
Nya we gotta get some food for Alice Nya when she returns Nya!
I'm not much for running through a city, maybe I can make more rations if they let me borrow the kitchen Nya!

Summer smiles and winks, "See you in Phandalin," and is off in a flash.

Certainly what other choice do we have? We need to get Alice to her ship...

Ashley looks wistfully upwards and says softly to herself, "Ashley the Dragonslayer." When she looks back at you it's as if she didn't hear what you said.

[At the Guild]

Greetings Miss Elizabeth!
I can report we returned safely though with an unfinished quest. We shall give our full report to Freya. A lot has happened.
We would gladly take your offer for a meal and request a room for the night!

"Of course, your room will be 107 upstairs and I'll bring the meals shortly. We have a leftover stew and it's quite good if I do say so myself." [Elizabeth also has a cooking skill.]

Oh, one more thing - could we leave our belongings at the guild? We are packed to the brim.

"Yes, I believe almost everyone has some things stowed here already if I'm not mistaken. Just head into the back and add to the barrel you used or grab a new one." She smiles kindly, "I's always good to see our adventurers returned unharmed from their questing. Will you be needing leveling service as well?"

Nya we gotta get some food for Alice Nya when she returns Nya!

Elizabeth bows to Cat, "I'll bring 4 settings, just give me a few minutes."

I'm not much for running through a city, maybe I can make more rations if they let me borrow the kitchen Nya!

Elizabeth overhears Cat's question, "It's yours today, no one usually comes on Sunday when Freya's gone, not that I'm not wonderful company of course, but Freya... has a way with people that I lack."

[The next scene will be at the trade guild.]

[Since this scene was scripted without Alice or Yulya, and Cat did respond, then we shall commence henceforth.]

Ashley finished her meal with a satisfied look on her face, seeing Elizabeth looking the other way she whispered to Cat, "Your cooking is better." Then continued, "Not bad Liz, hey, when does the crowd usually show up?"

Elizabeth waltzed over and smiled with a devilish grin, "tomorrow around lunch. You know, Freya worried about you, not your team as much, you specifically, in fact you made quite an impression on many of the regulars of course the little image of you in kitten form was a feature of many discussions, and it took days before Herald was back and Josephia didn't help with her near non-stop singing about you."

A poster on the wall still hung as if new.

"Not to mention Brutus, though he also said to say hi to you Cat the Barbarian, if I should see you." She turned back to Ashley with a keen glare, "I don't know all that you said to Freya, but if I find out you're not as gentle as a kitten with her," dark swirls formed in her eyes "even Theilia won't he able to protect you."

There was a gust of wind and a black-gloved, disembodied hand wrapped around Elizabeth's neck followed after a shimmer by a familiar woman dressed all in black leather, "Did I hear my name? Liz? Are you being impolite to my favorite human?"

In a frog-like croak, Elizabeth said, "Oh there you are, I thought I felt your presence."

"HA!" the drow assassin said disbelievingly, and pushed Elizabeth aside, "Hello again Ashley. Don't let her petty protectionist rhetoric of her precious Freya dissuade you from being just who you are, at all. So..." She sat backwards on a chair and faced Ashley, paten leather clad legs spread, she leaned on the back and smiled at her. "how did your first quest go?"

Ashley leaned back, "Well it's kinda not done yet, sort of I guess we did get paid but there's a follow-on. We came back to level and report to Freya on other things but Cat and I are going to go see about a trade guild license for me, it might help us make more ya know?"

"Hmm," She said with a whip of her hair, "how interesting."

A little uncomfortable, Ashley said, "Yeah, well Cat and I are going to go do that now, so..."

"I'll leave you then, for now." With a wink and a flash of wispy black fire-heat-like shimmer, she was gone.

Ashley addressed Elizabeth who was looking rather sheepish now, "Hey, um, I don't have anything against Freya, or anything much to do with her so don't worry."

Elizabeth sulked a bit but waved her acknowledgement, "The trade guild is a bit... picky, don't take it personally... and good luck."

[Optional Interactions and goodbyes.]

With that, Ashley and Cat left for the guild, having seen a map in the market square they headed there first, spotted the guild and headed that way. The sights and sounds of Neverwinter never ceases to amaze. Especially now that they were crossing the bridge to the north and the more affluent areas where the trade guild was housed.

The north market, across the river from the southern more common market, was filled with high end shops, jewelry, dress shops, beautiful gilded displays and food well out of any reasonable price range. There in all it's glory was the trade guild. The gilded stonework was quite telling as to how much the guild made from its members.

Ashley and Cat approach the doors and before they reach it, a tall elven man steps out and greets them. "May I help you... ladies with something?"

"Yeah, uh, I want to get a trade guild license." Ashley said defensively.

"I'm sorry you don't seem to be on the schedule, who is sponsoring you?"

Ashley looked at Cat and then back to him, "I'll sponsor myself."

He stifled a laugh trying to make it look like a cough, "As I suspected, unless you have a... more refined sponsor..." he squinted at Ashley's tag and straightened then continued in a disinterested, tired tone, "Ashley the ironclad adventurer of Neverwinter, there are no licenses currently available. So do take your pet and run along to your adventuring guild or whatever it's called. Ta." He waved Ashley and Cat off like flies from a picnic and continued to guard the door.

[Required interaction from Cat and then Ashley]

Cat's face lights up
Of course, Nyahaha!

"Not to mention Brutus, though he also said to say hi to you Cat the Barbarian, if I should see you."
Nya I am honored Nya please tell Brutus the same if you see him! I hope he is well Nya!
Cat feels proud such high ranking adventurer remembered her.

A little uncomfortable, Ashley said, "Yeah, well Cat and I are going to go do that now, so..."
"I'll leave you then, for now." With a wink and a flash of wispy black fire-heat-like shimmer, she was gone.
Cat watches the scene with bewilderment, then whispers to Ashley after Theilia is gone
Nyaa I know nothing about Drow Elves Nya but is this girl...
Cat's eyes dart around nervously
...interested in you as a mate or something Nya?

>pet
Cat's eyes narrow but she holds back, knowing the license is important for Ashley and the entire party. She turns to Ashley and whispers
Ashley Nyaa, should you mention that noble from Phandalin Nya? Maybe that helps Nya! But this man gives off worse vibes than most nobles I encountered recently Nya. I don't want to cause you trouble Nya and I apologize Nya but I cannot let this stand Nya!

Cat turns to the Elven man and stares him down. She brings out her most eloquent language, suppressing most Nyas

Excuse me Sir Nya, trade guild or not, we accept your refusal but calling a Tabaxi Warrior and Adventurer a pet is unacceptable behavior and an insult to my race and tribe! I am Cat the Barbarian Nya and nobody's pet or servant. What is your name, Sir? I am considering filing a complaint against you unless you apologize for your wording Nya!

[14:00 Sunday, Spring 16th, Sunny, 18C]

[Not this level, but Level 4, I have decided everyone may choose a class appropriate feat, if they choose, appropriate to their class from any 5e source or approved custom unique to you as well as a proficiency per our prior agreements, so make choices in your Level 3 leveling appropriately.]

[Meanwhile at the tree near the southern gate.]

Alice does Alice things.

[At the adventurer's guild.]

Nyaa I know nothing about Drow Elves Nya but is this girl...
Cat's eyes dart around nervously
...interested in you as a mate or something Nya?

"I don't know what her problem is, but I don't swing that way, come on, let's go. See ya later Yulya, we'll meet you back here tonight."

[Possible Yulya Interaction.]

[At the guild Room 107]

After lunch, Yulya leaves the food for Alice and informs Elizabeth to just leave it as well as the dirty dishes for you know who and retires to her room with her book to study Toll of the Dead.

[At the trade guild.]

The flames of hellfire were almost seen among the red hot clockwork gears in her eyes as Ashley considered her options, staring up at this intolerable abominable man.

Ashley Nyaa, should you mention that noble from Phandalin Nya? Maybe that helps Nya! But this man gives off worse vibes than most nobles I encountered recently Nya. I don't want to cause you trouble Nya and I apologize Nya but I cannot let this stand Nya!

Ashley is momentarily lost in dark thoughts.

The elven gentleman huffs and otherwise doesn't even linger a glance her way.

Ashley snaps out of it and snaps her fingers at Cat then pulls her down to whisper in her ear, "Play along."

[Cat Required Interaction #1]

"Oh don't mind her, and she's not my pet obviously as she explained, she's a hero." Ashley feigns a giggle "good jest though, ha ha. I'll go ask my sponsor to send a letter ahead and make an appointment, please excuse my oversight." She bows politely, and tries to motion Cat to bow respectfully as well.

[Cat Required Interaction #2]

There was a slight gleam of nervousness in his eye when he saw Cat's display, but it faded as he glances down at Ashley with a thin smile, "Hmm, I see, well do mind your sponsor's instructions more accurately in the future, you, I can expect would not know the etiquette but your sponsor most certainly would know, if anyone is to apologize it is you to your sponsor for this break in protocol, leading to my confusion. If they can forgive you for this, then I suppose so can I. So I'll give you this piece of advice in a show of future cooperation, rule number 1 of the trade guild is 'follow the rules to the letter and know your place', future tradeswomen. And may your goods always reach their destinations safely and profitably." He then straightened back up and returned to that stoic expression.

Ashley nods and tugs at Cat to follow her.

[Cat Required Interaction #3]

As they leave Ashley ducks behind the first building and casts Summon Mechathereal Wasp. With an audible pop and a wisp of purple smoke, Beatrice is brought into the material plane. Ashley directs her to fly up and behind the guild then to try to follow him into the guild in some way.

[Appropriate rolls]

Beatrice flies up with the noise of a large bumbling beetle and finds her way deftly to the building roof, and just as the elf is reentering the guild she slips in behind him. Ashley relays to cat the mayhem that follows. Beatrice attempts to knock over anything that looks expensive and fragile, and generally dodge all attempts to be stopped, she manages to knock over a hurricane lamp, shattering as it falls onto the marble floor the oil spreads and a small fire spreads over the well polished, immaculate surface. Several maids scream and the butler-esque elf attempts to swat Beatrice with a broom but misses.

Beatrice next attempts grapple the elf and succeeds, then stings the elf,
[HIT 1d20+4=24 DMG 1d4x2=8] and it is a critical hit, causing him to wince in pain as the poison surges through his veins.

Now a portly noble joins the fight with a jeweled sword that seems to be more ornamental than appropriate and swings at Beatrice
[HIT 1d20+2=4] and misses horribly, nearly hitting the elf.

The staff, including three maids, all begin beating at Beatrice with improvised weapons as the elf picks up a gold candlestick and attempts to squish her himself. She is sadly overcome by the numbers and with a few good whacks, she blinks back to the negative plane leaving the staff and the noble shaken but otherwise completely stumped as to what that just was as it left no trace other than the damage and the elf's significant wound.

Ashley smiles at Cat, "Let's bee sure to follow 'the protocol' next time."

[Cat Required Interaction #4]

[Alice, and Cat must all post before the next scene, it will commence back at the Adventurer's guild with Cat and Ashley's return.]

After her visit to Mr. Tree, Alice strolls into the guild, covered in bugs. She's happily plucking them from her clothes and hair and stuffing them into her mouth one by one.
Alice notices Elizabeth at he counter, gesticulating at her with a fat caterpillar in her hand

Hey, hey, you look familiar!
Did you see a timid cleric, a barbarian catgirl and a shady blunt dark-clothed person? They're my party!

Being told about their whereabouts, Alice nods happily.
Thanks for reserving stew for me, you're the best!
Alice leaves a beetle at her desk as tip and proceeds to eat her meal and clean the plates

After lunch, Alice considers her options. She doesn't want to disturb Yulya and thinks about checking if the orb is unattended to set it on fire. Dismissing the idea as too troublesome, Alice goes to look for Ashley and Cat
It's good that Cat went with Ashley - I think. But I'm not sure which of them is the bigger troublemaker!

A 3rd troublemaker is on the way to join the chaos...

Alice finds Cat and Ashley, mid chaos, hiding behind a building while Ashley gives the play by play of Beatrice.
