Summer shows a toothy grin, and though very cute and charming, it's lost on you all. "Alright." [/i]She picks up a handful of fresh snow[/i] "Do you see this?" She points to her palm full of snow. "This doesn't belong here, not even in winter. We've had frosts in Leilon, we never get frosts in Leilon and there's rumors of a white dragon with green eyes." She points to her cobalt blue eyes for emphasis "I don't know why he's here, but he doesn't belong here."
Alice listens to the story with visible disinterest then lets out a guffaw. She mostly talks to herself while turning her attention to the bandits.
Ahhh, I know why the dragon is here but it's well, complicated - you understand!? Let's just say the dragon might be the true hero. Doing God's work. Saving the world as we speak, yep!
I'm the first who wants to get rid of that goddamn snow and cold but if we do that the wrong way or too soon, then, oh boy!

Alice bursts into laughter, turning to Summer
Hey, hey, we heard a funny story as well! About disappearing nobles! Some son of a Marquis vanished. Right where those traders picked you up! In Neverwinter they say there's a dragon that can morph into a little girl. To eat nobles. Can you believe that?
Caused us quite some trouble when we tried to enter Neverwinter last time! They suspect anyone could be that dragon! So good luck without an ID. They'll probably strip you naked to check you're reeeeallly not a dragon!

Alice happily dances over to the bandits again and hits them with a few snowballs
Wake up you lazy bums! You're not gonna freeze to death here so easily!

Psst Yulya Nyaaa!
That girl Nya is no ordinary girl Nya! Out here in the wilderness and cold Nya, badly equipped Nya not afraid Nya totally clean Nya and no ID Nya! Traders seemed happy to get rid of her Nya! We gotta be careful Nya!
Yulya nods to Cat as her paranoia increases further. She decides to monitor Summer for any potential non-human behavior. But for the moment she cannot find any reason this would not just be an eccentric noble girl. Which is bad enough.

Yulya flinches listening to Alice's insane musings gesturing to her to keep it down. She turns to the bandits stumbling from one catastrophe to the next.
We need to get moving! Let us question these gentlemen now and decide what to do with them!

Ahhh, I know why the dragon is here but it's well, complicated - you understand!? Let's just say the dragon might be the true hero. Doing God's work. Saving the world as we speak, yep!

Summer looks at you in a daze of confusion.

Hey, hey, we heard a funny story as well! About disappearing nobles! Some son of a Marquis vanished. Right where those traders picked you up! In Neverwinter they say there's a dragon that can morph into a little girl. To eat nobles. Can you believe that?

Ashley speaks up, "That's not exactly how I remember it." Though she tried, she couldn't stop from laughing.

Caused us quite some trouble when we tried to enter Neverwinter last time! They suspect anyone could be that dragon! So good luck without an ID. They'll probably strip you naked to check you're reeeeallly not a dragon!

Summer looks worried and looks down in thought, "Uhrmmm I thought I had it before..." She once again searches her under her sweater, riffling through unseen pockets and as she bends down you see a gash on the back of her head likely from a strong blunt force. She frowns, "I don't know what to do?!" She now seems visibly distressed.

Wake up you lazy bums! You're not gonna freeze to death here so easily!

They're knocked *cold* and won't be up for at least an hour without other means of healing.

We need to get moving! Let us question these gentlemen now and decide what to do with them!

Ashley goes to the girl and kneels before her, takes out her comb and begins to comb her hair, "Don't mind them, they're a little rough around the edges." Ashley looks at her wound and summer hugs her, sobbing slightly. "Don't worry, we also want to get rid of this dragon so it's not like we weren't thinking about it, you're going to need that trade plate to get into Neverwinter, it takes 5gold to enter, or at least it did if you don't have any identification, while we're there you'll also need to get registered with the hall but as far as slaying dragons, we're not exactly ready for that, it'll have us for dinner."

She looks at Ashley with endearing eyes, "I'm sorry but I don't know what else to do yet."

"I've got an idea, hey do you mind talking to someone at the Adventurer's guild? She might be able to help and there are strong adventurers there that can probably do what you ask for that much coin."

She looks thankful and hugs Ashley again, causing Ashley to squirm uncomfortably. "Thank you thank you thank you!

Ashley tries to determine anything she can about the girl through perception.
Ashley had a critical roll. Ashly spots a gold chain around her neck under the scarf and gold hoops on her ears, they seem to emit a slight magic signature but Ashley's unfamiliar with them, she also seems to have other magic items that Ashley can feel since she's a sorceress but she can't see them let alone identify them, they're probably an amulet and rings. Ashley offers a candy and Summer takes it happily and pops it into her mouth joyfully. Ashley continues to comb her hair.

"Hey, I'm a sorceress, do you want to see my focus?"

Summer looks carefully at it, "Ooo that's a nice one what does it do? Do you want to see mine?"

Ashley nods and Summer pulls out her chain, at the end is a gem but not like Ashley's focus, it's a magic item. "This is my necklace of protection, my father says I can't die if I'm wearing this."

Based on the look and her admission, you suspect it is an amulet of resurrection, it's a legendary item likely only available to advanced adventurers and Nobles.

"Oh, mine is just a focus so I can cast more, but hey, what happened to your head?"

Summer looks at her oddly.

"The cut."

She shakes her head as if she doesn't even understand.

Ashley turns to Yulya, and speaks in hushed tones so Summer can't hear "From what I can tell, she's just a noble's daughter perhaps even Leilon royalty, we better play nice if we want to stay legit, the only thing worse than a noble is a royal. Heal her please, she might be a little loopy from the injury, can you tell how bad it is?"

Yulya nods and gathers everyone
Oh dear why didnt you tell us you were injured my child? But fear not I will show you a miracle. It is but a minor one but it will solve a lot of our problems! Alice come here too!

Yulya folds her hands in prayer, then casts CHANNEL DIVINITY - BALM OF PEACE
Moving from bandit to bandit, then Alice and Summer, she touches all of them with a hand, restoring 2D6+5 HP for everyone

Cat and Alice please look after these men and question them!

Yulya rummages through her backpack and takes out:
DARK RED CLOAK WITH ROYAL PATCH
ROYAL IDENTIFICATION PLATE (DAMAGED)
ROYAL ELVEN DAGGER

This may seem a bit odd but we found this earlier along the road. Please have these items Summer they should serve you well until we arrive in Neverwinter!

Alice come here too!
Alice enthusiastically runds over to Yulya and extends her hands
Yes please! I can't die either but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt getting injured!

Cat and Alice please look after these men and question them!
With pleasure!
Alice pokes the bandits with her spear, impatiently waiting for them to wake up

Cat patrols the area and observes the surroundings to make sure there is no ambush.
Nya we should get going! Are the bandits still not waking up Nya?

Yulya nods and gathers everyone...Yulya folds her hands in prayer, then casts CHANNEL DIVINITY - BALM OF PEACE
Moving from bandit to bandit, then Alice and Summer, she touches all of them with a hand, restoring 2D6+5 HP for everyone

A bright white light envelopes the group, the bandits all pop awake, their wounds mostly dissapearing, cuts mend, scratches and punctures close. Summer's wound dissapears and even the blood is gone as the snow has carried it away with Ashley's combing. Alice is fully healed. The bandits immediately begin to struggle against their binds, but with Cat watching and retightening as necessary their efforts are futile.

[I presume If left alone they would eventually pass some check and break the ropes or get out of them but they'd be allowed limited tries per hour or something I would have to do some research; however, I presume as long as someone's watching them they can't escape.]

Yulya rummages through her backpack and takes out:
DARK RED CLOAK WITH ROYAL PATCH
ROYAL IDENTIFICATION PLATE (DAMAGED)
ROYAL ELVEN DAGGER
Please have these items Summer they should serve you well until we arrive in Neverwinter!

"Did that clear your head Summer?" Ashley asks plainly.

Summer feels the top of her head and her fingers only touch fresh skin and hair, she seemed truly unaware of her injury. She takes the items and inspects them, "OooOh! This is very nice!" She reads the inscription on the dagger and the identification plate. "Pearl, Pearl, Pearl... no, I don't recognize this. My head feels clearer, thank you for healing me..." she looks down and strains to remember what happened. [Rolls as necessary] She shakes her head, "I do feel clearer but I'm just unsure how I got to standing on the high road. I certainly had a carriage out of Leilon..." She holds her head and winces. "I have a horrible headache." She manages to put on the cloak and straps the dagger to her side. The then places the plate in her cloak pocket.

"Can she use that plate to get into Neverwinter?" Ashley askes aloud, wondering to herself.

[Probably]

"How do I look?" Summer asks.

The bandits watch this and she looks to each of them with compassion, catching each of them in the eye. She says in a smooth elequent voice, "What were you men planning?" [Appropriate Rolls] Her radiant beauty catches them off guard and the youngest begins to cry, blathering incoherently. The next is transfixed by her, unable to look away. She stairs him in the eyes and then chuckles to herself in disbelief. "Imagine them trying to take on two armed traders let alone a draft horse under their command. They'd be trampled."

Alice returns to business.
Alice pokes the bandits with her spear, impatiently waiting for them to snap out of it.

They're awake and alert but refuse to look at her or say anything.

Summer pulls her dagger and it shines in the light. "If I had to, I could use this. I wonder what enchantment it has. I feel like an adventurer!"

Cat patrols the area and observes the surroundings to make sure there is no ambush.
Nya we should get going!

Cat finds no signs other than 4 sets of quickly fading footprints coming from the North.

"I know what Alice wants to do, but what should we do with these bandits? We witnessed them only setting up on the side of the road, technically we don't know what they were going to do unless we can get a confession out of them. But we can't let them go and harass others either." Ashley rubs her chin. "This sounds like a job for the one and only Yulya to decide!" Ashley titters as she sees Yulya turn white.

Yulya rubs her hands over her face and turns to Ashley
Help me out with your intimidation skills!
Yulya stands before the bandits accompanied by Alice and Cat presenting their weapons and tries to coax the men into talking using PERSUASION.
Gentlemen we find ourselves in an unfortunate situation!  I am a Cleric of Peace and do not wish to bring harm to humans I even healed your wounds. Consider this a gesture of goodwill. Yet we are also adventurers tasked with securing this trade route. So would you be so kind as to tell us what you were doing here? Speak truly and confess your sins and I might be willing to offer you another chance! But if you remain stubborn and silent I am afraid your fate is sealed!

Ashley hears Yulya's ultimatum and chuckles. "Alright, guys, I don't even know what you could say at this point, we don't have time or resources to escort you to prison. Bandits are the enemy of adventurers and only one side is supposed to survive the encounter." Ashley uses INTIMIDATION and it is very effective.

Summer watches with an unreadable expression.

The bandits look confused and don't speak.

Alice's patience has run out as she shouts down the bandits
Look you idiots do you want to die? If so say it and stop wasting our time! It's cold! Cat here will cut off your heads with a single strike and we can finally get going!
If you wanna live then spit it out now. Last chance! Where are the touching stories of your tough childhood that made you end up like this? And what's with your silver brooches? And that goddamn whistle! I want answers!

Oh and if you want answers, there is a very simple way for you to get out of here alive and it is to cooperate. We're not interested in killing you. But we will keep an eye on you. We will be back soon and we WILL find you if you ever even think about causing trouble again. And then...
Alice bursts in insane laughter
...well, we will do things to you, you cannot even imagine! You won't die easily, oh no! And even if, Yulya here is pretty good at reviving people! We are going to have a looot of fun with you!

Soo?
What will it be? Time to make up your minds! Clock's ticking!

The bandits look confused and don't speak.
Yulyas distress increases exponentially.
The town of Phandalin is expanding and desperately looking for workers. I am sure you would find a honest occupation there if you are willing to work hard. I am willing to let you go there. But as Alice said we will return to check on you. And if we find you causing trouble ever again - there will be no more mercy. This pains me but we need to do what we need to do. Now tell me everything!
Who are you?
Do you have any relation to this girl here? Yulya gestures to Summer
Why are you here?
What was your plan?

Yulya burns 1MP on COMMAND and singles out the most senior looking bandit

Alice considers letting them go.

The bandits do not answer, they're bewildered. As if completely unaware, there's a glassy glaze over their eyes.
Summer has her eyes trained on them and Alice, catching them in the eyes, she seems to be having fun with this.

Who are you?
Do you have any relation to this girl here? Yulya gestures to Summer
Why are you here?
What was your plan?
Answer!

Yulya's spell is effective and the eldest bandit seems to snap out of it for a second but his words are hollow as if he's half asleep.
"Johnstan Matthews, no, robbing a carriage, to rob a carriage, to meet our requirements for advancement."

The string of answers seem to match Yulya's questions.

Ashley notices something, as Summer looks at each of the bandits, they're becoming less responsive to the point of mindless puppets. "Oh... Summer's casting a spell, Summer, what are you doing?"

Summer looks to Ashley innocently. "They're guilty."

"Clearly, but other than that admission the one just made, how would you know that, what were you doing to them?"

"I have some training, and some talents in magic, sometimes I can hear thoughts if I look in someone's eyes, sometimes I can charm them. These guys were easy."

Ashley's intrigued "Do it to me, tell me something."

Summer looks in her eyes and Ashley begins to see visions, she sees a well appointed castle, she sees beautiful tapestries, she sees piles of gold, and she sees Summer, her hair floating in arcane magic. Only Ashley sees these things. Finally she shares what she saw in the Bandit's minds.

"That's pretty cool, I see how that can be useful in noble engagements. I wish I could do that." Ashley turns to Yulya seriously. "Summer's apparently an apprentice aberrant wizard or oracle or something. I don't know how strong she is but she has some interesting cantrips, I doubt her trick would work on us or she would have used it already. Looks like the bandits here are pretty low level. So she showed me that the bandits are basically criminals, they're not going to change their ways, letting them go is a mistake. Oh and Summer put them in some sort of charmed trance. I guess we have to pass judgement on them, and get a message out that the goblins were just one of the issues with this route." She looks to Alice. "Meat's back on the menu I guess."

"You're going to kill them?" Summer says with worry in her voice.

Alice isn't overly enthusiastic but nods.
Haaa, opposed to what some of you might think, I can't say I'm enjoying killing defenseless humans. That's not what I came here for. But I'll take your word for it. If they're just criminals and not some search party for Summer I guess it's time to restock our supplies. We can't let such morons roam freely, who knows who they might kill. Still weird, I'd like to have known more about that whistle and brooches. I thought maybe the whistle was a spell to make themselves not spill anything or something...

"You're going to kill them?" Summer says with worry in her voice.
If Milady has another idea, I'm all ears.
Alice laughs about her own pun, comically enlarging her ears by pulling them with her hands
But we tried our best but I don't see another way. Or you wanna charm them until we have dragged them back to Neverwinter?

Caaat?
Alice turns to Cat who seems to have zoned out

Cat feels happy Yulya can finally show off her healing powers but becomes increasingly agitated as things don't work out. Her eyes dart between Summer, the girl smelling like all the other horrible nobles, and the bandits. Rough men that lived in the wilderness just like her. Her tail sways back and forth.
Did becoming an Adventurer mean becoming a servant of nobles? And killing those who want to live freely? Cat feels conflicted.

N-Nya?
I don't mind fighting any enemy Nya but killing defenseless men Nya that surrendered Nya its dishonorable for a warrior Nya!

[Friday, Spring 14th, 11:15, Snowfall is increasing and accumulating.]

Ashley is also torn, as the snow accumulates around them but loses patience, so Ashley wrangles the cats and taps Cat on the arm. "Come on Cat, we'll let them decide let's get going." She throws a glance back at Yulya and Alice as if to say, "you know what to do." "Hurry up then catch up."

"Come on Summer, hey what else can you do?" Summer is immediately distracted by the question and gabs on about horse-riding, ballroom dancing, and negotiation arts.

Cat to decide if she goes with Ashley and Summer down the road a bit or stays.

As they move a few dozen feet away the bandits begin to come around to their situation. "We ain't talkin." Says one, "we say a word and we're dead anyway and you ain't no where near powerful enough to protect us." Says another.
