Yulya listens to the conversation and Brutus advice with a sober expression and thinks:
Yes - just as I imagined. Without massive help from Summer we are dead!

Yulya bows.
I thank you Sir Brutus, Sir Groet and Miss Kessandra!
You are correct we must plan this carefully without rushing into an attack! I cannot thank you enough for your help and advice!
Yet ignoring the cause of the entire freeze is not easy. I also wonder if the dragon is related or not. Whoever is responsible for this might not let us get rid of the dragon so easily...

Oh one more thing before I forget!
We stumbled into a strange man at the Alchemists shop just now. Very tall and thin clad in a black robe. I could not discern his face but I am certain it was no living being. Absolutely soulless, not breathing. He smelled of blood and the shopkeeper said he never spoke. I first thought it moght be and undead but it was suggested he might be a vampire. Just to let you know!

And I am not sure if you already heard but on the way back from Phandalin we encountered bandits ambushing a traders carriage that appeared highly organized. We beat them and they all had silver brooches resembling a flower and one had a silver signal whistle he blew. They would not talk and reveal who they were and in whos name they operated. They were young men all human. I used COMMAND on their leader to make them talk and he revealed his name was Johnstan Matthews and they were there to rob the carriage. He said they needed to do that in order to 'advance'. I believe Summer also cast some charm spell on them which may have interfered with our investigation. But he also stated they were not aware of Summer and not there to abduct her as was my initial suspicion.
We decided to let them live as I abhor killing humans. When we rested for the night the whistle began to glow and there appeared to be the image of a ship embossed on it. It was a tracking device. Other fairly powerful bandits showed up. We got rid of the whistle and their brooches to lure them away from us. They took them and fled when Summer cast an illusion.
Very odd. Do you know any organization that could be related? I had hoped the trade route to Phandalin was safe at least for the moment after we cleared the goblin den but I am afraid this is not the case. I wonder what we will encounter on our way there...

We should buy a chain Nya and a lock Nya or manacles Nya before we head out Nya!
Yes I think that is a worthy investment to chain powerful foes!
Then let us prepare there is still a lot to do today! I wonder how many poison we will be able to make. I hope it works. I also would appreciate advicve for a suitable cooking spot that is not to ofar away and reasonably safe.

Hmm, maybe I can do that with Yulya's ring. Still, don't these things have Blindsight or something?

"The red dragon did, but even so, he couldn't see through earth and if I stayed still against the inside of the hole, blindsight can't see color or contrast."

"Yeah, everythng looks like a single surface." Ashley mentioned off-handedly.

Still odd - do you think the arrival of the ice dragon and the big freeze is entirely unrelated? What kind of coincidence is that? But Daran also said the dragon was irrelevant and would move soon Well, he wasn't worried about the cold either. But I don't think he's behind any of that. Which reminds me - didn't Summer say we gotta take down the dragon to keep the forest from dying? She seems to know a lot about dragons - and even more about magic! Yet she appears to believe this is the dragon's doing.

Yet ignoring the cause of the entire freeze is not easy. I also wonder if the dragon is related or not. Whoever is responsible for this might not let us get rid of the dragon so easily...

They had no answers for you.

Just to let you know!

Brutus snorted a lough, "I find that laughable, someone like that would be easy to spot and vampires aren't allowed in the city. I've heard nothing of it."

Kessandra considered it more carefully, "They do exist, there are always rumors about, but the sources of those rumors are always elusive so they're ususally without substance. If the shopkeeper said nothing, then I find that very unlikely. There are wizards who can mask their life signature, perhapse that's what you experienced."

And I am not sure if you already heard but on the way back from Phandalin we encountered bandits... Do you know any organization that could be related?

Brutus flagged down Freya and she flitted over.

"Yes honey bunny?" Freya said in an overly cutsie way that caused Brutus to roll his eyes and sigh.

Kessandra couldn't hold back a snort of laughter.

Brutus relayed the report of bandits and Freya nodded solumnly, "yes, there have been many reports of bandits lately and I suppose being organized is a bigger problem. I'll relay that to the guard, they're collecting the reports to coordinate a counter offensive but the biggest issue would be to find out where they're working from. No one knows."

Any advice for a good spot outside of the city to cook poison for arrows and blades without bothering anyone - but also without being ambushed by monsters, bandits or other vermin?

I also would appreciate advicve for a suitable cooking spot that is not to ofar away and reasonably safe.

Brutus knew the answer to this one, "There's a camping spot just southwest of the city. The wind is blocked by a small stand of trees so it makes for a good rest spot for caravans who didn't make it to the gates in time to enter. It was taken over by refugees but a week ago the guards cleared it out, its a good a place as any. There are few creatures dumb enough to come that close to the city."

I need an itinerary of your upcoming day.

Alice tilts her head
A sorcerer?

Well I have seen some who sorcered too much and lost all humanity but this guy was definitely not an ordinary living being. Didn't get a good look at him like Yulya but what sorcerer smells of blood?
We can't deal with this now but you better be on the lookout. We already gave a report to Freya about this guy and the bandits. I wonder if they're connected to the freeze incident? If someone hired them I don't think it's about robbing carriages for their goods. Rather to cut off Phandalin. Perhaps. Whatever. I hope we meet those guys again...
Alice chuckles, imagining different ways to prepare them as delicious food, roasting them like the hog right here

Excellent, thanks!
Then we will go there!
I suppose we should go shopping for that chain first? Come on girls, time is running out!

Yulya is left without much answers but at least a proper site for poison production. She thanks the other party for the meal and prepares to head out
Come on Alice is right! We have no time to waste if we want to get up early enough to make it to the rest stop tomorrow!

Ashley stowed her book in her pack and stood, "Yeah, thank you Faren and friends, and thanks Grœtiekins, Bunny and Kessandra, you were helpful." Ashley said fearlessly.

"There's always something fun when you four are involved," Faren said kindly.

"Grœt"

"Any time, Ashley the brave," Kessandra said jovially, "May you girls have the luck of Corellon in your battles ahead."

Brutus stared at her menacingly as she left.

"Be careful." Josephia said and began singing, "They go to their fates with smiling faces, the bravest of all, we sing their praises..."

To the adventure shop you can buy a chain but there are no shackles, the shopkeeper informs you that shackles require special permission to buy or sell. You do recall that there were chains and shackles in the goblin den, but finding keys may be another issue. They have chains and locks however.
Chain 5sp per foot, 2lb per foot. (to attach a wing to a leg, you'd need a good 20ft)
Lock and key 10gp 1lb

[Possible interactions]

Now for the 3 mile trek to the campsite southwest of the city, you leave Neverwinter and travel the high road until you get to the site where there's open pits and spits to use, some with coals are still burning. Here, there's no reason to put them out as there's always someone using them. You arrive and there are signs that someone was here just recently, there are burnt scraps of meat, and a carved rabbit carcass on a flat rock. Cat sees prints in the sand that look curiously reptilian. Yulya scans the area [Perception 1d20+2=10 vs P15] A band of kobolds are hiding among the trees, trying to hide as they look at you, she can spot at least three but there may be more. The prints in the sand are too haphazard to know the number.

[Tuesday, Spring 18, 13:19, 17C, Clear]

Ashley summons Nixie and with a crack as loud as thunder a large, sleek, Mechathereal Panther pops into existence. Nixie looks around then hones in on the kobold at the tree line, she snarls, then snuggles next to Ashley with a defensive posture. She then casts Truesight on herself.

"We don't have time for them, just start cooking, Nixie and I will watch the kobolds."

"You monolog like a supervillain. Tell me your plans for world domination." Ashley teased.
Alice gives Ashley a rather surprised look and waves dismissivley
World domination?
Naahh...

You think I want to deal with governing all those idiots and tell them what to do? What a drag!
By the grace of the Winged Creature, I can do whatever I want, and I'm not gonna burden myself with dominating anyone. I just go where I want and remove some unpleasant people that happen to get in my way. But I have no greater plans at all at the moment. I'm here on vacation!

Alice waves goodbye to everyone and dons her mask

At the adventure shop you can buy a chain but there are no shackles, the shopkeeper informs you that shackles require special permission to buy or sell.
Alice is speechless
Whaat?
Anyone can buy martial weapons, poison and explosives in bulk - but shackes require a permission? From whom? The Queen? We're adventurers goddamned! We'Re allowed to kill anyone but not thake them captive?
What kind of joke is this?

Alice sighs and sighs again hearing the prices
That's heavy! Literally.
I suggest we buy 25ft  of chain for 3gp and the lock for 10gp. What do you think?

Now for the 3 mile trek to the campsite southwest of the city, you leave Neverwinter and travel the high road until you get to the site where there's open pits and spits to use, some with coals are still burning. Alice looks at the tracks and the Kobolds with a puzzled expression.
What are these? Never heard of Kobolds. Are they dangerous? And who makes such tracks? Lizardmen? Dragons? Didn't Brutus say nobody would dare to cause trouble here?

Ashley summons Nixie and with a crack as loud as thunder a large, sleek, Mechathereal Panther pops into existence. Nixie looks around then hones in on the kobold at the tree line, she snarls, then snuggles next to Ashley with a defensive posture. She then casts Truesight on herself.
"We don't have time for them, just start cooking, Nixie and I will watch the kobolds."
Alice is impressed
Whoa that's a big kitty! What nice ears! I bet I could ride it!
See? That's why I don't like us splitting up! You know what happened to Gundren because of that. Unity and numbers are our strength. But you're right, we don't want to start a fight. If they leave us alone, we will ignore them. I assume the smell will drive them away soon. But if they look like the want to mess with us, tell us immediately!

Alice keeps her weapons within reach, takes out the herbalism kit and begins setting up the new pot with Cat
Ok, be careful! We just want a small fire. The alcohol mustn't boil over and ignite or we'll have a problem!

Alice grinds the dried tobacco leaves and mandrake root with portar and pestle and adds them to the warmed alcohol.
This is very basic in terms of poison. Barbarian even. Sorry Cat. I hope it has any effect at all...

Alice carefully observes the liquid, stirring frequently as the alcohol slowly evaporates
Be sure to stay upwind from the pot, everyone, especially you, Cat!
...
This will take a while.
I can tell you a story if you like but don't let down your guard!

Yulya takes the heavy chain in her hands
Yes I can imagine not even a dragon could easily break this! But you are correct it is extremely heavy. I am worried more about this than the price. Yet it is better than having a shorter and useless chain. I agree on a 25ft length. Can you still haul this around Cat?

This will take a while.
I can tell you a story if you like but don't let down your guard!
Yulya frequently casts GUIDANCE on herself and continues to observe the area
Yes sure there is so much I still do not understand. How and why did you actually arrive here?

Nya no problem Nya but it limits me in carrying other stuff Nya. I'm more worried about the price Nya I wish it was only 3gp Nya... I know you're in bad shape Alice Nya but your math is horrible Nya! At least we can chain up our cart with this Nya! Nobody will be able to pull it away Nya!

I'm here on vacation!

Yes sure there is so much I still do not understand. How and why did you actually arrive here?

[Alice required response]

Alice sighs and sighs again hearing the prices. That's heavy! Literally. I suggest we buy 25ft  of chain for 3gp and the lock for 10gp. What do you think?

Alice attempts a low-ball haggling technique at the risk of angering the shopkeeper.

I'm more worried about the price Nya I wish it was only 3gp Nya... I know you're in bad shape Alice Nya but your math is horrible Nya! At least we can chain up our cart with this Nya! Nobody will be able to pull it away Nya!

[Persuasion 1d20-1=6 vs DC20]

Because of Cat's actions, the shopkeeper doesn't immediately throw you out and kindly informs you that the price is firmly 225sp.

[1 lock and 25ft of chain purchased for 225sp]
You now have:
9sp
13gp
8pp

[At the campsite]
[Tuesday, Spring 18, 13:20, 17C, Clear]

What are these? Never heard of Kobolds. Are they dangerous? And who makes such tracks? Lizardmen? Dragons? Didn't Brutus say nobody would dare to cause trouble here?

Nyaa Kobolds Nya just what we need Nya! They can be reasoned with Nya, sometimes Nya. I also suggest leaving them alone Nya. But watch them closely Nya! Do they have ranged weapons Nya? I'm not sure about the tracks Nya. Give me a moment Nya!

Cat tries to estimate the size of the reptilian tracks and sniff them if they give off a familiar scent.

[Perception +3 (+2 for hearing or scent)=22(24)]

Cat clearly deduces that the tracks are indeed left over by the kobolds, she can discern at least 8 unique sets of tracks. Such creatures are related to dragons, so the reptilian tracks make sense, but they are no bigger than Alice, shorter even than goblins, the tracks are smaller than the size of Cat's forepaw and because the wind is flowing off the water, and you are down wind of them, you can sense quite a bit more. First you can smell their fear, the number of them is at least 8 but probably not more than 10, they were cooking rabbit and still have cooked rabbit in their possession, they are likely all males though she can't be 100% sure of that. They also smell of sea salt as if they'd been swimming or bathing in the ocean.

You decide to watch them as Alice and Cat cook the poison. Since there is someone with cooking and alchemy skill, there is no risk of failure at this time. Because of the current wind conditions, about 10MPH out of the West, there is no worry of accumulation or danger.

[Tuesday, Spring 18, 17:30, 12C, Clear]

The sun is a beautiful yellow as it approaches the horizon over the ocean, it's serene except for the band of Kobolds nervously watching you from the nearby stand of trees. The first batch completes successfully, and you capture it in your vial. [Please keep track of your supplies]

As you start making the next set, the conditions have changed, the wind has died down but because you're outdoors you will not have to worry about vapor accumulation. The warm vapors simply waft up and away. Working away on it with Ashley and Nixie lazing next to the fire, Nixie stirs and looks to the Northeast toward the road. Ashley looks over and sees two small humanoids approach wearing cloaks that cover their heads. They're no bigger than Ms. Toadbottom. They are making no attempt at stealth as they approach.

[Tuesday, Spring 18, 18:35, 10C, Clear, Just After Sunset]

Ashley's truesight makes her eyes appear to glow slightly in the evening twilight.

"Heads up, we got company."

Ashley stands, holding Nixie back with her connection, and the two figures approach aggressively at first but once they spot Nixie, they change to a cautious stance.

Cat can overhear the following though she doesn't understand:

A strong, high-pitched feminine voice says quitely, "re astahii filki drielkari?"
An old sounding masculine voice responds "nomenoi re ti drielkari. wer jathila visidark ui, re astahii utihtik?"
The feminie voice mutters, "tooviri usv drehlniki, sjek astahii tira tivol astahii geou xikin" then calls out, with her hands raised in a non-threatening posture, "Hail, we come to you only for answers."

You sense nothing else from them, and they appear to be armed, they both are wearing full packs and look every bit like adventurers though you haven't seen them before, the only halfling adventurers you'd seen in the guild didn't look like these two.

[At the Adventurer's Shop]
Alice attempts appers to attempt a low-ball haggling technique at the risk of angering the shopkeeper.
Because of Cat's actions, the shopkeeper doesn't immediately throw you out and kindly informs you that the price is firmly 225sp.
Alice is not happy
That's unfair! It was an honest mistake! Alice doesn't cheat people for money! I never needed to buy anything so I'm not used to calculating prices. I made everything myself or got it for freee!

Alice pukes 22gp in the floor
That's all!
I don't have any more gp! You guys gotta pay the remaining 5sp!

here is so much I still do not understand. How and why did you actually arrive here?
As the poison mixture is slowly cooking, Alice finds time to talk.
Hmm, I think I already told you.
As far as I recall, my ship collided with a dragon high up in the atmosphere and crashed. I still can't believe it. Either that damn dragon used some sort of magic or - more likely, some pesky gods intervened. Otherwise the ship should just have annihilated that damn dragon without a scratch even if it was made out of adamantium. The Living Metal is extremely tough and, at least as far as we understand it. It also immediately regenerates any damage.

As of why I came here to begin with, I said I'm on vacation. I was told to lay low and disappear for a while. Many powerful beings wanna get hold of me and the ship. You saw that Orcas demon guy.
And this remote backwater world seemed like a good place to hide. Or so I thought. I didn't get very far investigating the planet before I crashed so I know nothing about what's going on here. But if I knew such demons existed here I certainly would have gone someplace else.

Alice briefly looks up from cooking and to the others with an expression of pity
I don't think you know how special this world is. Do you even know where we are here? This is not an ordinary planet like most inhabited ones in the galaxy...

The sun is a beautiful yellow as it approaches the horizon over the ocean, it's serene except for the band of Kobolds nervously watching you from the nearby stand of trees. The first batch completes successfully, and you capture it in your vial.
Nice, this looks good. No idea what it does though and we can't just shoot those guys over there. We will have to wait for some idiot attacking us to test the poison. My resistance is lower than I thought so I'm not gonna try it out myself either. I am needed here!

Man, it's getting cooler quickly as the sun sets...!
Alice dons her wofl cloak again and sets up the next batch.
Let's go for round #2, Cat!

Cat looks at the small humanoids, puzzled at first. She gets up from cooking and readies her weapons just in case
Nyaa what language is this Nya do halflings talk like this Nya? Never heard anything like this Nya! Watch the cooking Alice Nya!
Will do! Be careful and don't rush into anything!

Alice briefly looks at the visitors
Hmm, haven't we seen something like that before?
I can't understand anything either.
...
Ohh yeah remember that dead halfling we found along the road? Had a similar cloak. I hope they're not here for that and we have to tell them we sold the possessions of that corpse but didn't bury it. I told you we should have reported this to the roadmaster...

Alice is not happy
That's unfair! It was an honest mistake! Alice doesn't cheat people for money! I never needed to buy anything so I'm not used to calculating prices. I made everything myself or got it for freee!
Yulya adds 5sp and apologizes to the shopkeeper
This chain is too heavy to carry around!
We need to leave it on our cart!

During the cooking Yulya listens to Alice's story feeling more puzzled afterwards than before but is interrupted by the visitors before she can ask more

Ashley looks over and sees two small humanoids approach wearing cloaks that cover their heads. They're no bigger than Ms. Toadbottom. They are making no attempt at stealth as they approach.
Yulya uses PERCEPTION to get a grasp of the halflings without forgetting about watching the kobolds.
She stays behind the others and readies her shield glad that Cat made contact

Ashley what do you think about them?

Ohh yeah remember that dead halfling we found along the road? Had a similar cloak. I hope they're not here for that and we have to tell them we sold the possessions of that corpse but didn't bury it. I told you we should have reported this to the roadmaster...

Yulya remembers she at least spoke a prayer for the deceased halfling but agrees the issue would be uncomfortable

[At the Adventurer Shop]

That's unfair! It was an honest mistake! Alice doesn't cheat people for money! I never needed to buy anything so I'm not used to calculating prices. I made everything myself or got it for freee!

Yulya adds 5sp and apologizes to the shopkeeper

The shopkeeper refuses extra payment and their mood sours further, "Sorry I can't take tips. Fairness is what we as shopkeepers live by, we are bound to the trade guild, live, thrive and die by the trade guild." The proprietor continued in a lecturing tone, "Please conduct your business within the common law and common practices or take your business elsewhere."

[At the Campsite]

Yulya uses PERCEPTION to get a grasp of the halflings without forgetting about watching the kobolds.

[Perception+Guidance 1d20+5+1d4=28]
Yulya is keenly aware of the two that approach, their gate is short, they walk with a smoother motion than other halflings, she notes their steps as they approach, their footprints are the same as those they saw at the campsite earlier, the voice of the one who called, with a slight hang on 's' and a louder click to the 't's indicating a larger than normal tongue. The hoods have oddly placed points that are unnatural for even halfling ears, everything points to these two as being kobold. She's sure of it.

[Perception+Truesight 1d20+7=18]
Ashley's been watching the kobolds at the tree line, and when these approach she suspects they're halflings but she can also see their smooth gate, that catlike gate, even smoother, something that comes from careful steps or hefty counter balance, she notes a trailing protrusion on their cloaks only a tail can make and the points on their hoods, but no amount of shading can prevent her truesight and blindsight from penetrating the darkness.

"No, these are more kobolds and they don't look happy."

Nyaa what language is this Nya do halflings talk like this Nya? Never heard anything like this Nya! Watch the cooking Alice Nya!

I can't understand anything either.

Alice catches the slightest hint of their whispering but can't place the language, though her perception is nowhere near as keen as Cat's ears and probably couldn't hear it clearly enough even if she knew the language.

Ashley adds with a stern confident voice, "You can drop the disguises we know you're kobolds."

The kobolds see her glowing eyes and confident presence, and realize these are no mere traders or bandits, these are the keen eyes of a killer, a thief, of a one who has seen death and atrocities the common folk can't fathom, none other than an experienced adventurer or mercenary.

[Hidden Rolls]

At about 20ft from the group, the female speaks in quick harsh tones to the other "vorqic hefoc yth re ekik," before they they stop and pull their hoods back.

Nya we are adventurers from Neverwinter Nya! Who are you Nya? How can we help you Nya?

The male's wary expression calms as he speaks to Cat, "You appeared as bandits to us, so we apologize for our direct approach fellow adventurers. I am Tarak of Dragon's Rest, and this is my friend Varnoth." he is soft spoken in a cordial tone. A gold hangman's noose is worked into the design of Tarak's visible tattoos, but no one in your group has any idea what it means other then this tattoo was done by a skilled hand.

Tarak is an older kobold. He has pale sheen as if sun-bleached with some areas missing scales and the skin is tanned darker with many freckles. He has auburn hair that is mostly gray in some spots, and gray-blue eyes. Faded tribal tattoos in an abstract design peek up the side of his neck in a patch of missing scales from beneath his dirt-stained robes.

[Kobolds vary from looking reptilian to canid, some are winged and those wings are more bat-like than dragon-like. Most have scales covering their arms, legs, torso and thick lizard-like tails, areas without scales are sometimes covered in fur or otherwise bare similar to that of other humanoids. They often have a full head of hair similar to humanoids. They are said to bark like a dog, fight like a lizardman, and bite off more than they can chew. The tribes of kobold range from chaotic-evil, feral savages to lawful-good, friendly and amenable fair traders who inhabit ruins or make their homes out of cliff-side caves they carve out themselves. The civilized ones often wear halfling or human children's clothes tailored to allow for wings and tails and almost always exclude pants as their legs are ill-shaped for tight fitting clothes, so you'll see their females in dresses and skirts and their males wearing only light shorts or nothing below the waste. Both genders have nothing to be embarassed by as the skin over most of their body is hidden by interlocking scales which give them the look like they're wearing tight fitting scale armor. Their lower legs and feet resemble birds of prey more then lizards with three large, short, flattened toes facing forward and a wide square heal with no rear claw. They have sure footing owed to their counterbalancing tail and are adept at dodging and jumping, so with their tough scaly covering, even without armor, they're tough to hit, though usually quite weak with low constitution and strength.

As a race of humanoid, they barely qualify, yet they have rarely appeared in adventuring parties in the burglar role as their size and sure-footedness make them excellent scouts, thieves and light martials. Their affinity for magic also makes them excellent mages and spellswords but have never been known as clerics as their race is not generally accepted in human society or the church. They often disguise themselves as halflings as a result. Many demis like them, humanoid with animalistic faces, are relegated to the lowest castes in society, more of a curiosity than anything and generally regarded as lesser races. Though they are descendants of dragons, their creation is unknown to modern genealogists. Though it is theorized that ancient draconians and a more elf-like goblin ancestor somehow managed to mate, though the canid aspects of their physiology is a mystery. Less than 20% of kobolds are born with wings, and those who have them always fully functional. They have keen senses that fade in their later years.]

His friend shows her face with a wary expression. A kobold female with light brown scales which bear many scars—one of which runs across her left eye, which is milky and blind. She speaks in a gruff, indifferent tone, "Varnoth of the Azure Wolves, now a mason and guardian of Dragon's rest."

[Hidden Rolls]

Though the location 'Dragon's rest' is unknown to her, Yulya vaguely recalls hearing of a curious adventurer who often wore a cloak and was mistaken for a halfling. By chance she remembers the tale of Varnoth Wender and the Azure Wolves, which was a mighty force in the east about a decade ago. She understands that she is not to be underestimated and is, or at least was, a legendary mercenary, a very capable warrior, and her lore includes that this kobold had a quick temper for those who would disrespect her but a fair disposition otherwise. Yulya quickly disseminates this to the rest of the group.

They're most concerned with the intimidating glare of Ashley, the intimidating size and aura of Cat was diffused by her friendly greeting. They're also especially wary of Ashley's 'pet.'

Varnoth adresses Yulya with a respectful glance, "So you've heard of me, I find it interesting that my reputation has reached this far west." Her glare then lands on Ashley, she asks with a defensive posture and steely glare, "Yes, beastmaster, we are kobold and now for my question, what has become of our kin who were stationed here?"

Ashley speaks in a matter of fact way, "Your kin?" Ashley points to the tree-line to the west, "Why don't you ask them?"

The two peer to the treeline and now see some of the other kobolds hiding among the trees. They glance at each other and their wary expressions fade.

Tarak says, "Ah, if you'll excuse us a moment."

Ashley maintains her glare but motions that they're released from her presence.

The pair walk quickly to the treeline and cat can hear a faint discussion in the distance, it's calm and relaxed from Tarak with a few curt barks from Varnoth. They return and bow then Tarak speaks with a very polite demeanor, "Our friends were initially wary of you and chose to stay clear, we respectfully request to join you at the campfire as our intent was to stay here for day and set up camp for the night. If you accept we can share what provisions we have, and I will attempt to impress you with my culinary skills."

Varnoth adds, "You are well advised to take his offer, such a meal is not one you'll soon forget."

Ashley looks to Yulya to decide though she investigates further before Yulya has a chance to answer.

[Yulya's response required]

"If you're adventurers, let's see the tags?" Ashley says and flicks hers, ever dangling from her ear, with a finger.

Varnoth pulls her tag out, though it's old and scuffed, it states retirement from the Azure Wolves mercenary company under the fighters guild, and current registration with Waterdeep, Neverwinter, and Baldur's Gate. Tarak's tag states retirement from the thieves guild and is registered similarly.

Ashley inspects the tags briefly then thanks them for showing them. "Don't mind Nixie, she's a good girl and I'm not a beastmaster, I'm a summoner." Ashley summons Mr. and Mrs. Bigglesworth and with audible pops they appear next to her, staring out at the kobolds with indifference.

Cat looks at the kobolds in surprise
Oh you're kobolds and adventurers too Nya we thought you were halflings Nya! Yeah I think your guys are over here Nya!
Cat points at the trees and shows her adventurer's tag

Cat scratches her head.

We have a few more hours work ahead Nya that needs to be finished Nya! But the place is big enough Nya! So make yourselves at home Nya you were here first Nya!

Cat looks to Yulya for confirmation.
