It looks so harmless!

A moose has a fair amount more HP than Nixie and a hit like a broad sword with charge and kick. This bull moose was a large specimen and had a 12:10 advantage and Nixie's rolls were average so only with a couple ringers could she win. Ashley knew this.

Quote
Yes, a mountain lion, also known as a cougar or panther, can take down a moose, but it's not an easy feat. While adult moose are strong and formidable, panthers are also powerful and can successfully hunt moose, especially if they have the advantage of surprise or terrain.

Keep in mind that even goblins can win occasionally, the rolls matter.

Yulya is relieved it was only a moose and cant help but smile at Alices lack of common sense
A moose is related to deer. Do you know what a deer is?

Yulya also offers the moose to the kobolds
Yes please take all the parts you need. As Cat said we owe you something for that luxurious meal!
I also agree we should leave the bones here. It is true that a soup kitchen in Neverwinter could use them well but the refugees that lack money to enter the city are in more need of food. If we come across some we should guide them here.

Anyway well done Ashley! All this animals parts will provide us with additional funds.
Yulya speaks a prayer for the moose asking Eldath for forgiveness for killing one of her beings for such mundane reasons.

After dinner is done and the cooking is finished Yulya addresses the kobolds
I greatly  enjoyed your company I am glad we met!
It is time for us to return to Neverwinter now it is already late! I wish you all the best and hope we will meet again one day!

Oh and be careful Nya we encountered human bandits Nya on Triboar trail Nya I think one was a half-orc Nya! They seemed well-organized Nya. Managed to drive them away Nya but they're still there Nya!

Varnoth thanked Cat, "I appreciate the warning but we never go out that way, there's no need to. I hope you can make it through safely."

I like your attitude!

Varnoth looks at Alice seriously, "attitude or not, it's just common sense. There can be no peaceful coexistence with them, they take without asking, they know no logic or reasoning, they do what orcs do without regard for civilization or society. Half Orcs are an abomination, boorish and crude but they can at least be reasoned with and be civil, but how they came to be is a atrocity in and of itself. Anyone who thinks otherwise has never lived near an Orc settlement or had to deal with them at all. They should also be checked."

Anyway well done Ashley! All this animals parts will provide us with additional funds.

"Yeah, so remember that when Alice complains I don't pay for food, I don't need any of those proceeds this time. You guys spent a lot on dragon stuff and a cart that I didn't chip in on. In exchange, this, and I'll buy the carriage when we're ready, it'll be mine, but of course we'll use it until we get this stuff squared away. Later you can all become bug collectors and gardeners and I'll be a trader, swindling nobles out of their gold from Neverwinter to Hillsfar. Then I'll buy up all the slaves and set up an exclusive orphanage where they all are taught trades and set free." Ashley likes the idea of making tons of gold and working against the system from the inside.

[Tuesday, Spring 18, 22:00, 10C, Clear]

The last of the poison is done and it's getting late. The kobolds have set up a very crowded pair of tents next to their fire. Tarak, Varnoth and Agga bid you good night and safe travels before turning in.

I greatly enjoyed your company I am glad we met!

Goodbyes and goodnights are said, some of the younger kobolds are sad to see the Bigglesworths go, so Ashley leaves them behind to guard duty over the sleeping kobolds for the night.

[Tuesday, Spring 18, 22:00, 10C, Clear]

You travel back to Neverwinter and make it by midnight. The night guard, that silver haired woman in shining armor meets you at the gate. Ashley dismisses Nixie quietly before the gate opens and she dissipates in a cloud of purple smoke.

"So it's you four again." She eyes you all suspiciously. "Tabaxi Notdragon, Maxie Foxgirl, now little grey riding hood." Alice is asked to show her face. "Not that it matters that much at this point." She puts eyes on Ashley, then Yulya, "You there, Asimar Cleric. You're the leader of this band of misfits are you not? Where were you this afternoon at the time of the incident?" The rather tall woman stares down at Yulya with piercing eyes.

[Interactions Required: You are standing by the main Southwest gates to Neverwinter once again and the guard in silver, the beautiful Asimar Elandra, has addressed Yulya directly.]

Alice gives Yulya a puzzled look
No? Should I?

Varnoth looks at Alice seriously, "attitude or not, it's just common sense. Alice puts on a creepy smile
No need to tell me, you can count on me to eradicate such vermin. With extreme prejudice.

"Yeah, so remember that when Alice complains I don't pay for food, I don't need any of those proceeds this time. You guys spent a lot on dragon stuff and a cart that I didn't chip in on. Ashley likes the idea of making tons of gold and working against the system from the inside.
Alice rolls her eyes
Yeah yeah, first we gotta survive that dragon or you won't be swindling anyone. How will you even get your trade license? Will you ask that fat guy from Phandalin?

Alice looks at Cat and then back to Elandra in confusion while hugging the wofl tail attached to her cloak
Maxie Foxgirl? You sure got a hand for creative nicknames...

Where were you this afternoon at the time of the incident?" The rather tall woman stares down at Yulya with piercing eyes.
Alice's eyes narrow
Incident? Did Freya summon another Archdemon? Did the orb get out of control?

"I'll be a trader, swindling nobles out of their gold from Neverwinter to Hillsfar."
Cat laughs at Ashley's plans
Nyahaha I like the idea Nya! But they'll just collect more slaves Nya if you buy them all Nya and you'll drive up the price Nya if you create demand Nya. Better beat all the slavers to death Nya and nobody will dare to offer some Nya. Easy and simple Nya.
Cat nods to herself and seems pleased with the reasoning though she's not that certain anymore if beating all nobles to death is also justified.

Hello Miss Nyaa I keep forgetting your name Nya!

Seeing Yulya paralyzed by the sudden accusations Cat rushes to her aid and explains the situation in her usual style, gesticulating with her paws
Nyaa we're not misfits Nya we're Summer's friends Nya isn't she your half sister Nya? We were out at the camp site Nya making posion for our arrows Nya for our dragon hunt Nya but we had to do it out there Nya to not bother anyone by the fumes Nya because Freya Nya told us we can't in the city Nya and Brutus Nya said we should go there Nya and there were kobolds Nya we thought they were enemies first Nya but they were andventurers Nya very nice Nya two very skilled ones Nya old Nya and some young ones Nya they gave us food Nya it was delicious Nya one was a great cook Nya made awesome roast beef Nya in a spicy sauce Nya and dumplings with rabbit Nya we were there the entire evening Nya and then we caught a moose Nya!
Cat shows off the moose parts nodding proudly.

Yulya for once is feeling relaxed and in a good mood after the encounter with the kobolds. She cordially greets the guard at the gate.
Good evening - or rather night - Miss Elandra!

The night guard, that silver haired woman in shining armor meets you at the gate.
Yulya is perplexed and shocked by the sudden accusations. Her good mood shatters like glass as she is looking for words - turning red and sweating until Cat comes to the rescue.

Half hiding behind her Tabaxi friend Yulya tries to calm the situation
Uhm uh...
With all due respect I do not think calling us 'misfits' is appropriate Miss Elandra we are adventurers of Neverwinter and a part of this town just like you after all! We may be newbies but we are trying our best!
I have no idea what happened here but as Cat said we were out of town since noon and at a camping spot just southwest of here to make arrow poison. This is what Sir Brutus had suggested as the ideal place to not bother anyone with noxious fumes. We met some kobold adventurers there and had dinner with them then returned.

Can you please tell me what incident you are talking about? I have my full mana in case anyone is in need for healing!

Yulya is especially shocked since this girl is another Aasimar. A race so rare it is said they barely ever meet one of their kind. And now she is being interrogated and reprimanded? Hearing this from a human is bad enough but from someone with a celestial touch is another level. Yulya is reminded of her struggles with Eldath as absurd as it seems as she has no obvious relation to Elandra. But still your kind is your kind.

[At camp]
How will you even get your trade license? Will you ask that fat guy from Phandalin?

Ashley laughs, then shoos Alice's words away like a swarm of flies at the mere mention of the fat noble, "I'd rather make a deal with an archdemon than that guy."

Nyahaha I like the idea Nya! But they'll just collect more slaves Nya if you buy them all Nya and you'll drive up the price Nya if you create demand Nya. Better beat all the slavers to death Nya and nobody will dare to offer some Nya. Easy and simple Nya.

"No offense Cat, but no. They'll be beaten at their own game, extreme, obscene wealth accumulation." Ashley smirks to herself smugly, "Yes, they'll be begging me to spare them from my tariffs and fees when I own all the trade routes." She starts laughing manically to herself quietly.

[Wednesday, Spring 19, 0:00, 6C, Overcast]

Clouds are rolling in, and a cold wind blows off the ocean as you stand on the bridge, interrogated by this Asimar guard.

Incident? Did Freya summon another Archdemon? Did the orb get out of control?

Elandra snaps her fingers at Alice, ever speaking with a deep yet feminine, sophisticated cadence, "Let's keep on subject. Your goings on at the Adventurer's guild is no concern of mine."

Incident Nya? Did your dragon show up Nya?

"AH HA!" She points to Cat like she just caught her red handed with a stance like she's about to call her out to a dance off, then straightens and sticks her nose up at Cat, "Of course not, don't be ridiculous, the only dragons around here are supposed to be here obviously." She flicks a stray bit of dust off her immaculate and extravagant armor. "No, now please stand by while I ask your leader. Well? What do you have to say for yourself Asimar Cleric? What do you know? Spill it! What have you and your misfits been up to."

Cat flagrantly disobeys order and begins explaining everything.

Nyaa we're not misfits Nya we're Summer's friends Nya isn't she your half sister Nya? We were out at the camp site Nya making poison for our arrows Nya for our dragon hunt Nya but we had to do it out there Nya to not bother anyone by the fumes Nya because Freya Nya told us we can't in the city Nya and Brutus Nya said we should go there Nya and there were kobolds Nya we thought they were enemies first Nya but they were adventurers Nya very nice Nya two very skilled ones Nya old Nya and some young ones Nya they gave us food Nya it was delicious Nya one was a great cook Nya made awesome roast beef Nya in a spicy sauce Nya and dumplings with rabbit Nya we were there the entire evening Nya and then we caught a moose Nya!

Elandra holds up a finger to Yulya and considers Cat's words carefully while holding her chin with her arms crossed. "That's a lot of Nyas, you must be nervous about something,"she draws out her words like a sword from its sheath "yess, veeery suspicioussss. I'll overlook the bootleg poison production, the fraternization and illegal trade with refugees if you just come clean with me now." She double takes, "Kobolds? Oh right, the little ones. I suppose they're alright. In that case once again, please hold." She holds up a finger to Cat and stares down Yulya.

Good evening - or rather night - Miss Elandra!

"Mhm, good start, but it's actually forecast to rain, go on."

Can you please tell me what incident you are talking about? I have my full mana in case anyone is in need for healing!

You can feel Elandra listen to your words, not just with her ears, but with her energy, probing for any break in Yulya's voice or misstep by her words.

[Perception Rolls]

"I see your words are true and you've come clean, and you don't know, so I'll fill you in on the incident. There were no casualties except for a forgetful stable boy's memory and the evening guard's sleep cycle. Summer's Carriage and horses are missing, Summer is still at large, and no one saw her. We can't even be sure she's in Neverwinter anymore or if her carriage was stolen. If you see her or her carriage, please report to me or the guard immediately. Be wary of thieves, there's been a sudden rash, but rest assured the guards are ever vigilant, don't let anyone say otherwise! That is all." She lets everyone in without a further word, locks the gate and walks into the gatehouse, a lantern flickers within as the door shuts and latches behind her. You can faintly hear her referring to 'misfits' and 'nayas' to someone else through the window slit. A man's voice is heard chuckling.

The bell over the Church of Tyr softly tolls midnight in a muted musical melody. The streets are abandoned and dimly lit lit by street lanterns. A heavy dew is falling making the cobblestones reflect the light. The moonlit clouds are bright still, and are moving in quickly. You made it in just in time and just before the weather turned.

Making your way back to the guild you think about all that's happened and realize you won't make it out of Neverwinter early with a full night's rest.

[Survival Rolls]

Nothing stops you from getting to the guild through the dimly lit alleys and quickly dampening air. The guild doors remain unlocked and inside a smattering of night lights are lit. Freya and Elizabeth have both already left for the night. Your room is just up the stairs, your cart is in the back storage, you've made it home safely at least.

"Going to bed, don't wake me up early, the Mules can't pull a full day anyway." Ashley yawns and heads for the stairs, realizing Mr. and Mrs. Bigglesworth are still with the kobolds, hence she's left without sentinels tonight. She looks back at Alice, "No funny stuff tonight, I mean it."

Elandra snaps her fingers at Alice, ever speaking with a deep yet feminine, sophisticated cadence, "Let's keep on subject. Your goings on at the Adventurer's guild is no concern of mine."
Alice dons her mask again and thinks to herself.:
If this entire world gets overrun by demons and sucked into the the negative plane because you fools played around with magic and portals once too often, it WILL be your concern...
The eerie grin of her fox mask mimics her emotions

Summer's Carriage and horses are missing, Summer is still at large, and no one saw her. We can't even be sure she's in Neverwinter anymore or if her carriage was stolen. Alice tilts her head, the wofl eyes comically flopping sideward
Yeah, I had a feeling it was about Summer, what else...
She sure is a troublemaker! How can a carriage leave the city without the guards noticing? Did she teleport it outside?
Anyway, we do not even know what that carriage looks like. We found her because she had left her carriage and went onto the Triboar trail on her own, remember?

Making your way back to the guild you think about all that's happened and realize you won't make it out of Neverwinter early with a full night's rest.
This sucks!
We will never make it to that rest stop in time! We can't waste another day.
What if I wake up early and sell that moose thing and get the mules while you sleep? I am light enough to sleep on the cart. But I guess it could carry everyone, even Cat. But I'd rather not have her sleep during our journey. That won't exactly be comfortable but if it helps I'll do it.

Alice crosses her arms
I am not wasting my precious services on those who don't appreciate them! Enjoy being filthy!

Alice makes a nose dive under the bed and goes to sleep

Yulya is just relieved they are allowed to pass and mumbles a few thank yous dragging Alice away before she can ask too many uncomfortable questions
Inside the city Yulya relaxes again

I also assumed Summer was the cause for the 'incident'. On one hand I am glad she did not rely on us to lesve the city but I hope she is alright and managed to leave with her carriage though I am unsure if she is capable of steering it herself. What do you think Cat?
Honestly I would have prefered that she joined us or went with another experienced adventurer party and not on her own. I think she underestimates the dangers out there especially on Triboar trail and overestimates her abilities. After all she is still a child not a high level adventurer like Sir Brutus. A troublesome child...

We must ask around the guild tomorrow if anyone has information about her. We need to ensure she makes it to Phandalin our our dragon slaying adventure will be short painful and with a deadly outcome - for us...

Yulya agrees.
Yes there is no point in rushing. I cannot believe we actually made that trip last time. Let us proceed as far as we can get tomorrow and camp at the High Road. Then we move on to the fork to Triboar trail and camp there again. We should be able to get to Phandalin without a further stop from there.
Now let us rest, it was a long day! Good Night everyone!
As usual Yulya takes the bed with Cat

[Thursday, Spring 20, 08:00]

The morning sun shone through the slats like piercing swords of light. Ashley threw them open and looked up into the clear blue sky. No one could possibly be in a bad mood on such a beautiful spring day. "Ugh, I don't want to walk, I don't like the sun, those mules better not be a fuss! Everyone up, we gotta go. Get whatever sold, eat up, it'll be a long day and I want to stop before dark because I got to get the big darlings used to my summons before they end up bolting the first time I have to summon Nixie."

[Possible Interactions]

The smell of fresh bread and what looked like pastries filled the guild hall, Ashley rushed over to the kitchen and saw Freya making some kind of flaky treat.

"Well good morning Ashley, would you like a fresh pastry? I'm trying my hand at it, why not. It's always slow on Thursday mornings." Freya said with a cheerful trill.

"Gimmie!" Ashley grabbed one without a second thought and crunched down. "Yum. We gotta walk all day for days with stinky old mules."

"Oh? Back to Phandalin to stop that Dragon?" Freya said, preparing little plates for anyone who wanted one.

Ashley barely contained her annoyance, "No, we have to kill a spider or a ghost or a spider ghost, I don't know, whatever spawns in deep mines."

Freya started giggling, "You're so funny, fearless, and not even a bit anxious at what you'll face?"

Ashley waved her off, then gestured to the pastry, "Naa, how much?"

"Well, I can't bring myself to charge anything, it's my first time. If you enjoy it, consider that payment for being a test subject in my little experiment."

"In that case..." Ashley grabbed a second one and sat at a nearby table. "Don't let Yulya forget to pay you for the room, I think it was two days? I don't know, every day feels like a lifetime."

"Well you should buy the lifetime pass then," Freya chortled and then cleared her throat. "You put me in a good mood Ashley, thanks."

"Why, what's up?" Ashley said, chomping on the second treat.

"Oh nothing, the guards came here yesterday in a fit, apparently someone stole this Summer girl's carriage. I would really like to meet her but... alas. They said to let everyone know to tell the guards if they see her or the carriage. I believe it's a fancy one but I'm afraid I never saw it to begin with."

"We saw it I thought? Or maybe it was someone else's. The cartwright was working on it."

"That's not all, it was impounded. Someone managed to break the lock, steal her horses from the stables, remove the carriage and charge out of the gates right under the noses of guards and the stable master. I hope your mules are okay?" She thought "If someone knew a spell to speak with animals, maybe they saw something? I don't know how that spell works though sorry."

"Huh, the only thing I can think of is invisibility."

"And no one noticed the clopping of large horses and the grinding of metal wheels on cobblestone? It's quite a feat for a level one wizard, she'd have to be a master thief as well."

"Can teleport scroll do that? She said she was buying scrolls" Ashley wondered.

"Yes... but that's 7th tier spell, and it would be a quite expensive and risky scroll to use in the city. If she did, then do not underestimate this girl." Freya went back to cooking.

[Interact at any point, please state if you're buying breakfast, the pastries count as half a ration.]

[Thursday, Spring 20, 08:30]

[At the Butcher: He will buy pelts and horns as well, he's used to dealing with whole animals so he'll even buy whole carcasses but he won't give as much for those.]

Ashley walks in carrying the antlers, "Wanna moose?"

The Butcher turns to look at who entered and met her with a smile, "A moose? Oh sure I'll take whatever you got."

"Well, you're going to want all this, this is a special moose. It'll cost ya more." Ashley says with a wry smile and explains something fantastical and ridiculous as to why he should pay a premium for it.

[Persuasion 1d20+6=20]

It's unclear if he would have taken it for a little more just for asking, but her story made him chuckle. "Remarkable, well in that case, your magic, talking, fairy, moose meat and accessories are worth a little more. I'll take everything you got.

[Please interact if you wish and list everything you're selling, it will sell for .75x instead of .60x]

Cat raises from the bed and stretches
Nyaah good mornin Nya oh its 8 already Nya? We slept longer than expected Nya. Alright lets go Nya!
Cat grabs Alice from under the bed and heads downstairs

The smell of fresh bread and what looked like pastries filled the guild hall, Ashley rushed over to the kitchen and saw Freya making some kind of flaky treat.
Ohh that smells great Freya Nya! What's inside that pastries Nya?
Cat buys a pastry

"the guards came here yesterday in a fit, apparently someone stole this Summer girl's carriage. I would really like to meet her but... alas. They said to let everyone know to tell the guards if they see her or the carriage. I believe it's a fancy one but I'm afraid I never saw it to begin with."
"We saw it I thought? Or maybe it was someone else's. The cartwright was working on it."
Cat thinks hard
Nyaah? I can't remember seeing Summer's carriage Nya at the cartwright Nya there was that ugly one some noble returned Nya and the cheap battered one for sale Nya.

"And no one noticed the clopping of large horses and the grinding of metal wheels on cobblestone? It's quite a feat for a level one wizard, she'd have to be a master thief as well."
Cat shakes her head at the story
Nyaah it's impossible Summer did this by herself Nya she'd at least need land vehicle proficiency Nya and animal handling Nya like me Nya but probably much better Nya and being a master thief Nya. She's a magician Nya and a little girl Nya that doesn't add up Nya. She'd be incapable of handling a carriage like that Nya.

"Can teleport scroll do that? She said she was buying scrolls"[/color] Ashley wondered.
"Yes... but that's 7th tier spell, and it would be a quite expensive and risky scroll to use in the city. If she did, then do not underestimate this girl."
Some sort of magic for sure Nya or it was somebody else involved Nya
Cat concludes

Due to the weather, Alice is in a good mood and doesn't even mind getting dragged from under the bed this morning
Are you a vampire too or something?
It's bright and dry and warm! No snow or freezing cold. Pardise!

We gotta walk all day for days with stinky old mules.
Alice is not amused
Hey, don't badmouth Sandra and Sophia like that! Their ears are superb and they're our party members now! You can pull the cart yourself if you don't like them! What happened to your cool summoning book anyway? Was that postponed until you get your princess carriage?

Ashley barely contained her annoyance, "No, we have to kill a spider or a ghost or a spider ghost, I don't know, whatever spawns in deep mines."
Yeah, I really wonder. What would a large living thing even live off in a mine? Does it eat rocks? Or do goblins feed it? Whatever, I'm sure it's cold and dark in there an full of traps and monsters. I don't like mines or dungeons or anything belowground in general!

"Well, I can't bring myself to charge anything, it's my first time. If you enjoy it, consider that payment for being a test subject in my little experiment."
Alice grabs a pastry as well
That sounds - slightly indecent if you put it that way, Freya! You shouldn't use that phrasing with the boys here! But it's good so I guess I'll have to pay for your 'service'...

"And no one noticed the clopping of large horses and the grinding of metal wheels on cobblestone? It's quite a feat for a level one wizard, she'd have to be a master thief as well."
Alice grins
Yeah I asked that the guard as well but got no answer.
That girl is crazy. No idea how she pulled that off but my bet is also on magic. Or she's a dragon and flew off with it at night.
I don't think someone else stole her carriage. She'd havee come to the guild for help. But wasn't the whole story absurd?
She said her driver left her behind when she brielfy exited the carriage? And that the driver disappeared and it wasn't anyone from Leilon hired by her family? I feel we're getting dragged into something big here and Summer isn't exactly helping to clear up the situation. Whatever, I hope she makes it to Phandalin or yeah, we'll have a slight problem. I don't really have a plan B.
Alice's mood darkens. The prospect of having to rely on that erratic girl to fight a dragon in order get the ship back isn't exactly thrilling...

The Butcher turns to look at who entered and met her with a smile, "A moose? Oh sure I'll take whatever you got."
"This is a special moose. It'll cost ya more."Ashley says with a wry smile and explains something fantastical and ridiculous as to why he should pay a premium for it.
Alice's eyes widen
Whaat?
I had no idea that weird looking animal could do that! No wonder Nixie struggled with it!

It's unclear if he would have taken it for a little more just for asking, but her story made him chuckle. "Remarkable, well in that case, your magic, talking, fairy, moose meat and accessories are worth a little more. I'll take everything you got.
Alice wearing her wofl cloak takes a step back
Not me, I'm an adventurer not a magic talking fairy animal so don't butcher me!

Don't let Yulya forget to pay you for the room, I think it was two days? I don't know, every day feels like a lifetime."
Only one night and a pastry please!

"Someone managed to break the lock, steal her horses from the stables, remove the carriage and charge out of the gates right under the noses of guards and the stable master. I hope your mules are okay?" She thought "If someone knew a spell to speak with animals, maybe they saw something? I don't know how that spell works though sorry."
Yulya shakes her head
It is a spell of bards druids and rangers I believe. Unfortunately I have no such ability. We would require Miss Josephia for this!

Ashley asks Yulya, "Are we doing anything else or is it time to get the cart loaded and pick up the kids?"
Yulya thinks for a moment
Unless we come across Summer we should get going so we can travel as far as possible along the High Road!

[In the room]

Are you a vampire too or something?

"If I was I wouldn't tell you... before I get some of that delicious blood! Wait, do you even have blood? It probably tastes like mushroom soup, yuk." Ashley smiles and you could swear you saw big fangs.

[In the guild hall]

It's rather quiet and only a few adventurers are present. Freya has just finished baking some pastries and is proud to display them.

We gotta walk all day for days with stinky old mules.

Hey, don't badmouth Sandra and Sophia like that! Their ears are superb and they're our party members now! You can pull the cart yourself if you don't like them! What happened to your cool summoning book anyway? Was that postponed until you get your princess carriage?

Ashley waves Alice away, "I got my book, it'll take a while to pick out the right one, then I need to buy a scroll or transcribe it myself. I'll do it when I actually have something to pull. I want a cantrip so it'll be worthless in battle anyway."

I don't like mines or dungeons or anything belowground in general!

"I'm looking forward to it, I like tight spaces and danger at every turn, plus, it'll be nice full of lovely gems and ores, I want to go around and collect stuff, it'll be like a scavenger hunt! Haven't you ever played that game?"

"Well, I can't bring myself to charge anything, it's my first time. If you enjoy it, consider that payment for being a test subject in my little experiment."

That sounds - slightly indecent if you put it that way, Freya! You shouldn't use that phrasing with the boys here! But it's good so I guess I'll have to pay for your 'service'...

"Well dear Alice, I would hope someone wouldn't want to charge for their first time, I'd hope someone would want to share that with someone they love. I love all my Adventurers, hence, taste my pastries!" She has a devilish smirk and the other adventurers at a near table start laughing.

"Freya, give us some!"

"Come and get it boys and girls!" She blows a kiss to the table in question and sits up on the bar, crossing her legs, she presents the pastries like a show girl.

They didn't need to be told twice, two platinum plate wood elves and a halfling druid, along with two others, another silver plate wood elf and a Tempest Cleric rush over like children. They each take one and the platinum plate wood elf says "you make me want to be young again, dearest Freya." He was, seemingly a druid with live vines growing out of his armor.

"Cedricus, You're a wood elf, you're ever youthful, I bet you don't age at all."

"That's a common misconception, like trees we grow for a hundred years, live for a hundred years, and spend the rest of our lives dying. And right now I'm dying to try more than just your pastries." He said and got into Freya's personal space.

She leaned forward, put her hand under his chin and moved to within inches of his face, she spoke with a seductive tone, "Cedricus, my love. Keep. Dreaming." She then pushed him away like a used toy she was done playing with.

He was immediately crestfallen as his mates laughed at his expense.

"Don't take it personally dear, you're simply not my type."

The halfling spoke up, "Freya, you're such a tease, am I more your type?" She joshed and tittered.

"Half way there..." Freya said and a flame erupted from her fingers, "Anyone else want to try for a good burn?"

"That was a low blow Freya!" She snickered as she backed away and bit down, "Mmmm, these pastries are amazing."

"Thank you love, you know I kid."

The other male wood elf, the silver plate, nodded and ate his, stoic and calm, he looked the part of an assassin.

Freya winked at him and he stopped chewing for a second, eyeing her incredulously, then continued.

"You're no fun, but I love you Gavero." Freya teased.

He smiled smugly at Cedricus.

"Go on, rub it in, I am truly heartbroken!"

Freya tisked, "Dearest, you know my deepest love is for all adventurers, I could never settle on one."

Cat buys a pastry

"Put that purse away darling! As I told Ashley and Alice, these pastries are gratis."

Nyaah? I can't remember seeing Summer's carriage Nya at the cartwright Nya there was that ugly one some noble returned Nya and the cheap battered one for sale Nya.

"Yeah, I'm just confused." Ashley said, blowing off the hot pastry before devouring it in two bites. She pats her belly and smiles, "I'm in a good mood, let's go swindle, I mean, bargain shop.

Freya sees Ashley leaning back with a grin, "I see my secret ingredient is working."

"huh?"

Freya winks at her and giggles.

"No, really what's in it I ate two!?"

Ohh that smells great Freya Nya! What's inside that pastries Nya?

"I'll never tell!" She giggles and places one in front of Alice and Yulya. "I need more data for my experiment!"

But wasn't the whole story absurd? She said her driver left her behind when she briefly exited the carriage? And that the driver disappeared and it wasn't anyone from Leilon hired by her family? I feel we're getting dragged into something big here and Summer isn't exactly helping to clear up the situation. Whatever, I hope she makes it to Phandalin or yeah, we'll have a slight problem. I don't really have a plan B.

After hearing the conversation steer through speaking with animals, Yulya consults her book and comes up empty handed.

It is a spell of bards druids and rangers I believe. Unfortunately I have no such ability. We would require Miss Josephia for this!

Josephia calls from across the room, "If Faren gets 50 gold for mopping a floor, I want 100 for speaking to mules!"

Freya shoots her a serious look then smiles at Yulya, "It remains a mystery then, please be careful!" Freya says with all sincerity.

Only one night and a pastry please!

Freya slides the pasty to Yulya as soon as she sits.

[Freya accepts 2sp again for the second night of the standard double room.]

You now have:
7sp
13gp
8pp

Unless we come across Summer we should get going so we can travel as far as possible along the High Road!

You all say your goodbyes and leave for the butcher, saying you'll return for the cart shortly.

[At the Butcher]

Not me, I'm an adventurer not a magic talking fairy animal so don't butcher me!

"You're so weird Alice." Ashley says and flicks her wolf ears.

[At the Stables]

Dragging the cart with some effort through the streets of Neverwinter, you make it to the stables. The stable master is in the barn, brushing the mules in question, "There you are! I thought perhaps I got the day wrong, as you can see, I have the harnesses and packs on them and oh good, you brought the cart, now we can fit them to the cart." This human gives off an aura of kindness that is palpable, the mules nuzzle him every chance they can get as if they know it's time to part soon, like saying goodbye to an old friend.

He fits the cart to one, sees that it's adjusted properly, then goes to the second and repeats. The mules seem excited to pull the heavy cart.

"They're ready, I'll leave... Sandra was it? On the cart for now. You're all leaving a little late today but don't let that bother you, stop before dark, I see the lantern and that's good in a pinch, but especially today, give them the idea that they don't have to work too hard." He hands Ashley two green pressed alfalfa bricks and sees that the cart has the feed and feed bags. "Break them in half where they can see it and give these to them at the end of the day each day. They can't get enough of them, it's like candy to them."

"Then we'll need more, give me 4 more." Ashley says.

"That'll be 8sp."

"Holy heck, for a green clod of grass? Cat, we need to learn how to make these!" She gives him the 8sp reluctantly and moves where the girls can see her and she speaks with a cutsie little voice you might hear someone speak to a lap dog. "Aww you girls sho shtinky! Earn your bricks! No trouble."

Sandra and Sophia both seem happy to see Ashley and bump her pack with their noses.

"Oh, you want treats? Work for it..." Ashley pets their soft necks and they seem happy for the attention, "well okay, but this is a loan." Ashley pulls out two more candies and hands one to each. "good thing I got a ton of these, seems like this is a one sided conditional friendship."

The stable master gives everything one last look over, "Seems to be in order, have a pleasant trip."

Interactions and Butcher quantities required.
