Alice tastes the blood while Cat smells for a trail and listens, and Yulya maintains her vigilance.

[Perception +5 Alchemy +2 1d20=14 visual, 20 Haring and scent, 19 taste]

If there's one thing Alice knows well is the taste of human blood, this is human blood.

The group moves south onto a southern platform with some very interesting items on display.

W6: Level 2: Open Quarters

On this platform, raised 15 feet above the level 2 floor, covering a huge pile of tailings, is a miners' barrack, where the skilled delvers working in Wave Echo Cave may have rested between shifts on this level. There are two bedrolls left but slightly less dusty spots where others might have been.

Tables with scrolls are as shown, fur lined sleep sacks lay under shelves along the Southeast and next to the other sacks on the Southwest wall. Tools, mining gear and of particular interest, prepared sticks of explosives, among other things are on the shelves and scraps of the remains of what was likely maps line the walls of this chamber, perhaps a dozen separate scraps are left, utterly without context and holding no useful information on first glance. To the East is a full cart of coal. A small elevator is just North of that.

Just to the south Cat hears faint creaking and splintering sounds; something is just south of your position.

Ashley sees Cat's attention and looks with her truesight and blindsight as she moves closer, she gives a hand sign, holding up three fingers, silently she points South where Cat heard the sound. Based on the sound your own feet are making on this old splintered wood, whatever these are, are heavier than your group.

Ashley whispers, "Three hunched figures squat near the South end, they look like they're eating something and gnawing on bones. They have pointy ears and they're big."

Alice examines the explosives with enthusiasm.
Ha, and here I thought we would not get to have fun with this stuff!
Alice pockets a stick and hands Cat another.

Alice can barely contain her excitement but manages to keep quiet
Ohh, looks like we already came across those ghoul things and they're having a nice Bandit meal! Let's not disturb them!

Cat, let's carefully approach, I will light the fuse of your explosive, then you'll throw it while I throw Yulya's glow rock as distraction! Then we hide on the east wall away from the blast wave! Be sure to cover your ears and open your mouth, this will be loud!

[There are 3 loose sticks, 4 bundles of 3 set to ignite simultaneously, and 8 bundled together for transport. Damage is additive, the radius increases 2.5ft for each additional one in a group up to three. Using more than three in a bundle is not well advised. If you've ever played Minecraft then you know why.]

Ashley whispers suddenly, "Or, we could strap the explosives to Mr. Bigglesworth!"

Cat signals Alice to be quiet and carefully drags her back to the explosives.
Nyaa I don't want to get caught in an explosion Nya and we don't know how old these sticks are Nya! Better take 3 to be sure Nya.

Cat looks over to Ashley/i]
Ashley Nyaa we need someone here Nya!

If Ashley summons Mr. Bigglesworth, Cat will strap 3 bundled sticks to his back with Alice's string.

Ashley whispers back, "He could but summoning him is still noisy, they'll hear us for sure."

She ponders, "I gotta learn silent casting, definitely before we face off against the dragon.

Alice's mood swings between excitement and disappointment.
But-but I want an exploding kitty! It's the best idea you ever had!

Alice looks to Yulya for a decision.

"We could move back to the elevator, the mine might mask the sound of the summon."

Yulya is not exactly happy but signals everyone to retreat to the elevator.
Uh Ashley your summons do not feel pain right? I mean they were killed countless times but sending them to their demise like this is...
Yet our safety has priority and I do not want Cat to get injured by the explosion. So Ashley if you would summon Mr. Bigglesworth please?

Yulya provides her blanket for extra noise reduction

Ashley shrugs, "Be prepared for them to come running if this doesn't work out as planned."

Ashley looks at Yulya Incredulously.

"He'll be blown apart, do you think that hurts? I'll feel it too anyway, so whatever."

So Ashley if you would summon Mr. Bigglesworth please?

In the back corner of the mine, the summoning is done, a pair of loud pops fill the air with unnecessary noise akin to a large rock falling.

[Luck 1d4=2,2 DC10]

The sound echoes amid the walls of the mine.

[Perception Hearing 1d20+6=23]

Silence follows...

"That was loud, hurry." Ashley instructs Mr. Bigglesworth to be fitted and sends Mrs. Bigglesworth as a stealthy lookout.

Mr. Bigglesworth relinquishes his fate despite his despondent look.

[Round 0]

[Make your moves, it will take one action to prepare the martyr.]

Cat pats Mr. Bigglesworth on the head
Nyaa I'd take getting blown up Nya over getting hacked Nya, bitten Nya or ripped apart Nya any time Nya!

Cat holds the explosives while Alice ties them to the martyr cat with string. Then she enters Rage and follows him 30ft S

Ashley shrugs, "Be prepared for them to come running if this doesn't work out as planned."
Alice isn't worried.
We'll just throw more explosives at them if they come here! Also I thought they hated light?

Ashley looks at Yulya Incredulously.
"He'll be blown apart, do you think that hurts? I'll feel it too anyway, so whatever."[color]
I don't think it hurts. You can blow me up later for entertainment when we cleared the mine. And I didn't hear you complain when we accidentally set him on fire in the goblin cave. It'll be fiiine!

"That was loud, hurry."
Alice is startled by the unnecessary loud pops
Goddamned, what's with this noise? It's just a kitty! If you summoned Nixie, the mine would collapse!

Mr. Bigglesworth relinquishes his fate despite his despondent look.
Alice looks at him sympathetically.
Hey, I'd never do this if it would kill you for real. You are stronger than even me. You won't die. Well, at least not for long.
Now let's have some fun, shall we? You'll cause damage like you've never done before!
Alice ties 3 rods to Mr. Bigglesworth's back using 3ft of string.

With another rod and her tinderbox in hand, Alice advances behind Cat.
Yulya you are rear guard now! Be vigilant!

Rest assured this will hurt me more than you...

Yulya feels awful for poor Mr. Bigglesworth but then finds consolement in sophism.
Wait he is a denizen of the Negative Plane not one of Eldaths creations!

Yulya casts BLESS on Alice Ashley and Cat and remains behind the others as they advance South.

[Round 0]

I thought they hated light?

[Yulya's knowledge is specific, they hate sunlight, and dislike moonlight, the dim glowstone light is fine, firelight is no problem, normal light levels are uncomfortably bright, bright light would potentially blind them but they have other senses that make up for sight and working in the blind is no problem for them.]

It's just a kitty! If you summoned Nixie, the mine would collapse!

"We're about to find out."

Yulya casts BLESS on Alice Ashley and Cat and remains behind the others as they advance South.

The group moves south and unfortunately two of the Ghouls split off to investigate the noise, though they are adept at stealth and evade everyone else, Ashley's Truesight cannot be fooled.

"We got company, light him up."

Ashley points out two shadows at the rear of the platform that are otherwise imperceptible. She calls Rally Speed, and unleashes Mr. Bigglesworth on them.

[I have presumed the action to light Mr. Bigglesworth's fuses was handled by Cat still in Round 0]

Mr. Bigglesworth runs at them with a burst of speed, but since they had initiative, realizing they've been spotted, they call out with a raspy yell of warning but are unable to escape the approaching suicide bomber. He attacks with claw as part of his normal move just before the climax.

[HIT vs AC16 1d20+4+1d4=23][CON vs DC15 1d20+1=6][DMG 1d4+2=5]

Ghoul 1 takes 5 magic slashing damage, and the fireworks begin!

[LUCK 1d100=38, AGE EFFECT 1d10=8]

The explosives were somewhat new, made by the Rockseekers within the season, luckily for you they hadn't lost any of their potency as a result and make for a spectacular explosion.

Mr. Bigglesworth makes an impressive black scorch mark in the heavy wood boards as the explosion envelopes the Ghouls.

[DEX vs DC12 1d20+3=(5,CR,13),(5,13,14)][DMG 3d6+6d6/2=(4+17,9+23)]

The ground shakes as the shockwave spreads, kicking up dust and reverberating off the walls. The sound is deafening, everyone has gained DEAFENED 3 and will be unable to hear for three rounds. Any and all creatures on this level have been alerted of the activity. Ghoul1 takes 21 force damage, Ghoul2 takes 32 force damage. As the dust settles you can tell they've taken significant damage. They're AC is decreased by 1 due to the loss of their outer layer of armor.

Mrs. Bigglesworth stays back awaiting further orders. Given the commotion, the third Ghoul gains initiative due to the shock of the blast on you all and Dashes North, eager to see who's been playing with explosives, he peers over the platform down at you with a wide grin on his face.

Alice can't see what's going on and is surprised by the explosion which makes her body wobble like pudding
Haha, ow, that was loud! I hope we got'em! You alright, Cat?

Alice waves at the unexpectedly handsome ghoul with an equally bright grin before lighting up the explosive stick she is carrying and throws it at the creature. Unable an unwilling to hear any objections, there's no stopping her.
Hi there! My, what nice ears you have! I hope they don't get blown off!

Then Alice retreats back N 40ft and signals the others to follow

Unable to hear from the explosion Yulya looks around nervously tries to determine if anything is approaching from above or behind.

Yulya shivers as she spots the undead. She notices with relief that her comrades do not blindly attack. Testing her newly obtained abilities Yulya uses Metamagic to combine Toll The Dead and Sacred Flame and casts it on the ghoul with her goblin staff before retreating 30 ft. Seeing that Alice tossesanother explosice she covers her ears to prevent further damage.
