Cat is frustrated about her miss but immediately attacks again striking the drake with her claws using Nick. She gives extra HP to Helga. Should the drake survive this round, Cat moves 5ft S of Helga out of the pore cloud but does not elave its reach to prevent an opportunity attack.
If the drake is down she moves out of the spore cloud 5ft N of the Yulya tree

Nyaa what happened here Nya? Is that the World Tree Nya? I hope I didn't do this somehow Nya!

[Round 3]

[CON vs DC12 1d20+3+1d4,+0+1d4=(24,14)]

Cat and Helga withstood the noxious spores.

The Myconids' slow metabolism causes them to lose initiative.

Ashley calls for Rally Growth, moves North and ducks behind her shield.

Alice moves past Yulya looking at the strange tree with amusement, crams past Nixie and attacks the drake on the bridge with two unarmed strikes (action, bonus action), using her Crusher feat to attempt to push it 5ft S off the bridge.

[HIT vs AC16 1d20+3+1d4=(12,14)]

Alice misses both strikes on the smoky foe.

Cat is frustrated about her miss but immediately attacks again striking the drake with her claws using Nick. She gives extra HP to Helga. Should the drake survive this round, Cat moves 5ft S of Helga out of the pore cloud but does not leave its reach to prevent an opportunity attack. If the drake is down she moves out of the spore cloud 5ft N of the Yulya tree

[2d8=10]

Helga gains 10THP.

[HIT vs AC16 1d20+2+5+1d4=(29,19),(CM,11)][DMG 1d6+5+2=10]

One of Cat's claws struck the drake solidly, but he's still holding it together.

Yulya's leaves are still.

Helga attacks drake 2.

[HIT vs AC16 1d20+4+1d4=(20,20)][CON vs DC15 1d20+3=5x1.5][DMG 1d4+3=7]

Helga strikes the drake for 7 damage but it is still very much active.

Nixie disengages, moves North-West, then attempts to pounce on Drake 4.

[HIT CLAW vs AC16 1d20+5+1d4=(20), GRAPPLE vs DC13 1d20+5=18][CON vs DC15 1d20+3=6][DMG 1d6+3+2=11x1.5=16]

Nixie is able to hit the drake but can't manage to grapple it. Even after all that, the drake is still not downed.

[Target 1d2=2]

Drake 2 uses draconic frenzy on Helga.

[HIT vs AC12+2 1d20+8+4+0=(14,CM,9)][DMG 2d8+3+1d6 poison=9+6=15]

Helga doesn't survive the attack and is teleported back to the negative plane.

[color=orange[Target 1d3=2][/color]

Drake 4 uses draconic frenzy on Nixie.

[HIT vs AC12+1 1d20+8+4+0=(CM,8,CR)][DMG 2d6+3+1d6 poison=9+4=13x2=26]

Nixie's struck by the drakes tail and blinks out of existence.

Myconid 1 attacks Drake 2 while Myconid 2 attacks Drake 4.

[HIT vs AC16 1d20+11,+6,+1=(28,24,CM),(20,23,11)][Pox Fort Immune][DMG 4d6+4,4d6+4=15,18 Bludgeoning respectively]

Fume drake 2 flops to the ground due to its pummeling. Fume Drake 4 falls into the abyss.

As the last of the drakes cease to be a threat, the Myconids begin to emit non-noxious spores that fill the space with a musty, wet-dirt smell.

A branch falls from Yulya and the goblin staff reforms. She slowly returns to normal.

Fume drake 2 perishes from his injuries, Fume drake 1 is stable. The spores seem to have settled. Cat maintains her rage but it will subside after one more turn without a target for her aggression.

After a few moments of silence the Myconids stare at Cat and Yulya with a piercing gaze.

Regaining her human consciousness Yulya looks around in confusion. Relieved she finds the enemies have been eliminated. She turns to Myconoid 1 and bows.

I do not know if you can understand me but we deeply thank you for your aid! Without your interference this could have ended badly for us. You have my deepest gratitude!
I apologize for the intrusion but we are adventurers from Neverwinter tasked with clearing this mine from evil creatures like those drakes! We do not come with any hostile intent against your species! I am Yulya, a Peace Cleric of Eldath and these are my companions Alice, Ashley and Cat!

Yulya signals to the others to keep it down and appear none-threatening to the Myconoids

Alice misses both strikes on the smoky foe.

Myconid 2 attacks Drake 4.
Fume Drake 4 falls into the abyss.
As the last of the drakes cease to be a threat, the Myconids begin to emit non-noxious spores that fill the space with a musty, wet-dirt smell.
Alice hops back to the Western side of the bridge
Whoa, you saved me there! Thanks a lot! You guys rock!

Alice reaches into her pockets and offers the Myconid2 a bunch or candy coated herbs she got from Ashley, something among her most prized possessions
I'd even give you an ear but I don't have any with me right now. By the way, do fume drakes have ears? What are they anyway?

"I'm pretty sure they only have ear tufts," Ashley says to Alice, "and those mints might not be compatible with their physiology, they don't even have mouths that I can tell."

Ashley gets a weird buzzing in her mind, something that she can sense but not grasp, it's just barely beyond her to comprehend.

[Myconids use spores for communication to make a mental connection but none of you knuckle-draggers even have intelligence in the positive except Ashley, unfortunately even she can't because they require an intelligence of +2 and Ashley is only +1]

"Uh Yulya, welcome back to the Aninal kingdom, so I can't communicate with them but I am getting something like emotion and they're not happy, in fact I sence their hostility growing. Please tell me you have something in your book there that boosts abilities, specifically intelligence, I literally only need one point and I think I'll be able to communicate with them."

Cat is surprised by the Myconid suddenly showing up and beating down the drake
N-Nya? What's this Nya? Did Yulya make you Nya? But good fight Nya your punches are quite something Nya!

Cat uses Primal Knowledge to enhance her perception and find out more about the Myconid. Then she finishes off the surviving drakes before they can wake up or resurrect.

"I'm pretty sure they only have ear tufts," Ashley says to Alice[/color]
Alice's mood drops
Ehh, no ears?? Well, I'm fine with ear tufts as well, just like from the owl guy I presume. A true collector can't be picky here.

"and those mints might not be compatible with their physiology, they don't even have mouths that I can tell."
Alice looks at the shroom and then back at Ashley.
Duh, they're fungi, they can absorb and break down anything over their body surface just like me! And they look hella strong and are probably poisonous. You think they'll drop dead from your candy coated herbs?

Alice absorbs one piece through her hand pointing at it and then keeps offering a second one to the Shroom, pointing at Ashley
Ish good! You eat! If bad, her fault!

Yulya feels devastated her words appear to have no effect.

Ah how unfortunate I hope we can get along! I do not really know what happened but I will try my best!

Yulya comes over to Ashley and casts ENHANCE ABILITY on her to buff her INT. She also offers her all the rings of unknown abilities.
Sir Alric was a beastmaster. I assume he had the ability to communicate with odd species and these rings might have helped him do it!

Cat uses Primal Knowledge to enhance her perception and find out more about the Myconid. Then she finishes off the surviving drakes before they can wake up or resurrect.

Cat's Rage ends.

Ish good! You eat! If bad, her fault!

Ashley whispers harshly, "Alice shut up! You're only annoying them further."

Yulya comes over to Ashley and casts ENHANCE ABILITY on her to buff her INT with 'fox's cunning'. She also offers her all the rings of unknown abilities.
Sir Ulric was a beastmaster. I assume he had the ability to communicate with odd species and these rings might have helped him do it!

Yulya, using her last 2nd tier slot, imparts the energy of the spell into Ashley but it's no use.

"well that did nothing, who writes such a worthless spell and it's 2nd tier!? I do feel like I could use this though, forget fox's cunning, I want Eagle's splendor."

Ashley manipulates the energy to suit her needs and takes the six rings hesitantly, three from Ulric, three from the skeletal hand and begins to put them all on, "speaking of which, here goes nothing."

[Arcana(A) 1d20+5+1d4(B)=(CR,22)(15,24)(18,12)(23,13)(19,22)(25,14)]

Ashley's enhanced senses are able to identify the rings.

"
-Ulric's first ring: It's a glyph ring of warding, you can add any spell you're capable of casting into this and set a trigger for it to go off meeting predetermined conditions, it's empty.
-Ulric's second ring: this one is exactly the same, empty.
-Ulric's third ring: This is a Ring of the Badger, if HP drops below zero, you return to 1HP, it has three charges that reset at dawn, it has three charges.

-The mage skeleton's first ring: it's a Ring of Breath, your lungs are automatically filled with air while wearing this ring. This also immunizes you from air-based poisons and allows you to breath in non-oxygen atmosphere and underwater, the wearer is immune to choking gas. Refreshing and useful.
-The mage skeleton's second ring: it's a Ring of Sustenance: You do not need to eat or drink while wearing this ring. Hm, I feel satisfied.
-The mage skeleton's third ring: it's a lesser Ring of the Magi: you gain +4 to INT/CHA/WIS saving throws.

These rings are worth a fortune."

Ashley shrugs and looks disappointed.

The Myconids shift. They lumber toward her until they're standing face to shroom wall next to her.

As a last ditch effort, Ashley attempts persuasion.

[Persuasion(A) 1d20+7+1d4(B)=(11,27)]

What follows is the utterances of the most persuasive argument you've ever heard, a magic enhanced and truly masterful performance; the only issue is Ashley's utterances have unknown meaning to them.

[1d4=2]

The Myconids both begin to outgas a purple haze, using Spore Domination (a physical/mental ability not a spell) on everyone within 60ft. Ashley is immune.

[Will vs 19 1d20+9Y,+3C,+2A(Resistant)=(18,19)(20,15),5]

Yulya, Cat and Alice are charmed and compelled to do the bidding of the Myconids, being both helpful and unable to be hostile toward them.

Yulya, Cat, and Alice begin dragging the corpses of the fume drakes to the denser patches of mushrooms, careful not to damage any. The small blue-glow heads lean toward the corpses and the bluish slime begins to cover them slowly like a slime mold. Including their ear tufts.

The Myconids seem to calm and give Ashley one last warning glare before returning to guard their gardens.

Yulya comes to her senses first, finding herself standing near the smaller Myconid. Cat comes to next, and finds herself standing near the larger one. Alice is left standing dazed and is not under her own control.

The Myconids still seem wary and Ashley gets an idea. She runs East looking for a corpse and drags back one of the ghoul's desecrated corpses, back and offers it to the larger Myconid.

Ashley lastly looks for any more noise-making sticks of Alice's and throws them down the crevasse.

Finally there is something of a truce struck, the Myconids' eyes shut and they return to their dormant sentinel form.

Ashley drags Alice over and puts the Ring of Breath on her finger, as she breaks free of their domination, she takes it back and puts it back on then speaks quietly, "I figured out a few things. One, they hate noise, two, they love corpses, meat would also make a good offering. If we see any more of them, we should offer them some. These two kept getting angrier as we spoke, so speak softly around them. I think they'll let us pass, let's go." Ashley gestures South.

Cat comes back to her senses in a different place.
N-nya what happened Nya? This is getting weirder and weirder Nya!

Nyaa but I don't have any more meat Nya left everything from the snake Nya and octopus Nya at our campsite Nya!
Cat moves back to the elevator, leaves her bedroll in bag PEACE and returns with 20lbs octopus meat.

Ashley whispers harshly, "Alice shut up! You're only annoying them further."
Alice quietly sticks out her tongue to Ashley and rolls her eyes into impossible positions like a chameleon.

The Myconids shift. They lumber toward her until they're standing face to shroom wall next to her.
Alice becomes slightly worried about the shrooms cornering Ashley and gets ready to interfere if necessary
Hey guys, guys, that was just a joke, alright?!

Alice looks around in confusion unsure of what happened. To Ashley's luck she has forgotten about the fume drake ear tufts and not yet realized her explosives are gone.
Fuwah! Huh?
Ah, the shrooms, right! Those guys make me feel like home. I like them! My artificial fungi can't walk around but we'd do the same - pile up all corpses for them go grow on. Ha, I hope I can show you one day - provided I can get my ship back. Very convenient in underground places where my Trees can't grow...

Alice keeps musing about fungi while venturing South with Cat.

Ignored by the Myconids and declared useless by Ashley - Yulya falls into yet another existential crisis, cowering on the floor

Ringless and still shaken, Yulya stumbles South after the others

Before Yulya can come to her senses, she's already descended the steps into the southern area.

W13: Starry Cavern

The ceiling extends upward in this large cavern and is dotted with more glow worms and more slime-covered glittering minerals hanging from the ceiling catch any light and reflect it back to create the impression of a starry night sky. Dozens of skeletons—many crushed under fallen debris—are scattered across the floor. The walls appear to be burned, and bits of dark obsidian cover certain spots.  You recognize the burns to be similar to the odd rock with the hole in it you found earlier; the stone itself was heated to the point of melting and cooled quickly, forming obsidian. "Beam holes" in some spots extend a hand's width deep. It would be fair to say that standing in the way of whatever made that would be unwise.

The cavern is divided by an escarpment, onto which ladders lean.

The structural damage and the human and orcish skeletal remains in this area are evidence of a destructive spell battle of unimaginable power, fought here long ago when the orcs and wizards stormed the mines. Bits of petrified leather and steel bobs lay among them, the remnants of their equipment untouched other than by time and the occasional rockfall.

Amid the dust of the cavern, the skeletons are thankfully all broken, inanimate, and pose no danger. The minerals in the ceiling are pretty, not all of them the same aqua crystals, but they are beyond your reach for now.

[Arcana vs DC15 1d20+5=20][Perception=1d20+5=22]

Both Yulya and Ashley can sense a subtle aura of magic in this cavern. The aura becomes stronger as one ventures further south to the lowest area (W14).

W14: Wizards' Last Rest

This lower area has been recently disturbed by rockfall and reveals fresh corpses of bandits; they look like they lost horribly. Some have burn marks reminiscent of the stones, appendages are cut clean off and cauterized. some have the look of horror frozen on their lifeless faces. They're still wearing their armor equipment and brooches, 7 in all; whoever killed them took nothing and left them where they fell. Even a sword seems to have been cut clean in half by some magical means, the metal pooled on the end as if melted by extreme heat, hotter than the hottest known forge. The air is still and stale with the scent of fresh kill not more than a day old. You sense no traps or signs of life.

The southernmost end of this room is another deep drift or natural cave.

On the furthest southwestern wall next to the drift, there is a very old metallic structure, made of that same dwarven metal, built to survive anything—well, almost anything. There are remnants of what was once a very sturdy metal seal here; it looks like it was recently opened, and by the looks of it, with literal barrels of explosives, enough to make even Alice blush. The metal hinges are partially melted from the blast. A deep black tunnel remains, too black to be natural. To the southeast of that is a wooden platform with stairs leading down. The stone that once separated the drift from the other side has recently fallen away, revealing a fresh rock surface, likely from the blast.

Ashley refreshes her Truesight and she describes what she sees in the magical darkness.

"Dust, ash, walls blackened by fire, and heaps of debris beneath a sagging ceiling—yeah, this room was damaged by a destructive blast. I can see remains of furnishings—tables, chairs, bookshelves, and beds—are charred; this was some kind of living quarters. Wait a minute..." Just on the edge of darkness, a scorched iron chest stands proud and blasted open. Glowstone light piercing the darkness shows glints of gold and the tell-tale hue of Mythril--a lot of it. A rope, ladder, or other means could be used to reach the chest.
