Yulya is even more terrified now and signals Alice to return.
This must be the lair of the beast!

Ashley can you spot anything with truesight? A cat would really help us here! Alice can you scout just a little further ahead to the raised ground? The passage is almost blocked and whatever is in there should not be able to follow you out of there.

Yulya casts GUIDANCE on Alice to improve her stealth.

"It dug through solid stone. Do you think a little dry mud will stop it?"

Cat goes 5ft S of Alice's current position to sniff the air for any living creature.
Nyaa if there something we should try to lure it into a trap Nya!

[Perception (Smell) 1d20+5=11]

Cat smells no more nor less than the other dug out tunnel areas.

Alice looks at Ashley but nothing happens as expected

Alice sighs and uses stealth to carefully sneak up unto the raised ground along the wall, ready to disengage and dash back if anything attacks.
Guess it can't be helped. If you want to get something done, you gotta do it yourself...

[Acrobatics Alice 1d20+5=7, Acrobatics Mrs. B 1d20+6=19]
Alice bravely attempts to climb the gravel with Mrs. B. right beside her, but as she grabs to climb, clumps of loose gravel clods come loose and fall, causing her to slide back before she can get a good look. Mrs. B manages and perches on the level near the opening. Presumably not one to take this lightly, she continues and claws her way up. Amid ruined drifts are eight ancient corpses that may have been halflings or gnomes, and among them are two cave ogre skeletons still intact. A greenish slime accumulates against the northern and southwestern walls, and in the northwest there is a hole descending to who knows where.

[Stealth 1d20+1d4+5,+4=22,6]

Unfortunately, Mrs. B. is about as stealthy as a sewing machine at full speed and as Alice arrives, they begin to feel a rumble in the ground.

"Don't blame me, you said you wanted Truesight and I can't see anything from here."

Nyaa something's coming Nya!
Cat races to the barrels up ahead to check if they contain anything useful against a large monster like explosives. If she can extend her rage with a bonus action (see meta) Cat also enters rage.

[Luck 1d100=42]

Cat finds more mining supplies, very old outfits that are stiff from age, tools such as a boring chisel kit, a couple pick axes, hammers, more lanterns, and water skins in the same condition as the clothing. In a box she finds machining tools and files. Some of the barrels look like they've never been opened, though aged beyond repair, some items are museum quality. It's clear that the miners who left these were intending to mine again and therefore intended to return soon.

Yulya reminds herself not to use the mecha-summons for stealthy jobs but to send Alice instead.
Oh nonono somethings coming! Cat what are you doing? Prepare for combat!

Yulya casts BLESS on Alice, Ashley and Cat.

If Alice retrieves the troll skulls, Cat crushes them to make sure they pose no more threat.

Very odd. Did another giant slime do this? No, then there wouldn't be tracks. Doesn't look like one of those shroom guys either... A slime dragon?

Unfortunately, Mrs. B. is about as stealthy as a sewing machine at full speed and as Alice arrives, they begin to feel a rumble in the ground.
Alice looks at the whirring cat with dismay.
Can't you exist more - quietly? I guess not! I should have done this on my own...

Alice reaches in her backpack to throw an explosive stick into the hole - but finds none.
The hell, did that thieving wizard steal those too? Was my froggo not enough?

She takes out a firebomb instead but then is recalled by Yulya and Cat.
Damn, I feel we'll regret not taking the initiative here!

Alice dashes forward, grabs the ogre skulls and moves back to Cat, out of the way of the tunnel

[Round 1]
[Initiative 1d20+2=CRIT vs 1d20+3=22]
[Lore 1d20+5=18]

Yulya Casts Bless on her team.

Alice dashes forward, with intent to grab the ogre skulls and moves back to Cat, out of the way of the tunnel.

She dashes to the first one, directly across about 25ft away, grabs the heavy skull off the pile of bones, then dashes Southwest to the next one about 25ft to the Southwest, then heads for Cat and manages to get just off the crumbling pile of gravel and debris before a creature emerges from the tunnel, dropping both the large skulls.

Yulya recognizes this as a Bulette, sometimes colloquially referred to as a land shark, a rather nasty cave dwelling beast capable of ingesting and utilizing ores and other minerals, thus utilizing these in the reinforcement of its teeth, claws and rock-like hide.

"That's not a gopher."

Ashley throws Mr. B in that direction and summons Nixie. "Get him girls!"

The beast has become enraged and gains temporary hit points.

Mrs. B moves behind the creature as Mr. B sets up flank and Nixie Pounces.

[HIT CLAW vs AC22 1d20+5+1d4=(12,26), GRAPPLE vs DC13 1d20+7=15][CON vs DC13 1d20+6=12][DMG 1d6+3+2=11 magic slashing damage]

[HIT CLAW vs AC22 1d20+4+1d4=(12,23),(17,22)][CON vs DC13 1d20+6=20,15][DMG 1d4+1,1d4+1=(4/2, 5/2)=4 slashing damage resisted by its stony hide]

Nixie hits, but fails to grapple the beast, Mr. and Mrs. B both scratch at it but it's hide is reinforced and it resists the damage. After all that, the beast has barely a scratch

The bulette thrashes at Mrs. B.

[HIT vs AC12 1d20+9=14 HIT]

The beast crushes her between his huge jaws, she pops out of existence as a result.
