Haha I'm sure it will be friendly - just like all monsters Alice tried to tame so far. But good point, I'd like to see the skeletons climb up here to attack us. We can off them one by one.

That would work if they did

Ah well, I tried...

Just to be clear - if my future familiar makes it back up, it can't fire its lazers?
Then we should just surround the ladder left and right. If he comes up he'll take a beating from 2 sides with flank.

who could have foreseen it!
we will do it like this

cant put Cat in front bc shes scared shitless but if the skull fires at Alice Cat will give it a beating with sentinel

I appreciate your concern, Kashtan but Cat is our tank. Put her in the middle so she can sentinel both!

That will not be an adequate flank either. If the skull is literally protected on three sides by shaft walls.

I just remembered all those times Alice complained my encounters were too easy, scripted, or forced you to follow a linear path.

"meow, don't mine me, just getting the elevator..."

Are you implying I'm not complaining about exactly that right now? If you wanna surprise me you gotta go for more Monty Python style - 'And now for something completely different' developments.
I still think the skull just wants to play and is happy to see other people after centuries of loneliness.

And yeah, there's obviously no flank like this. We'd have to lure him out 5ft W of the ladder. So Cat in the middle must be moved 5ft W. But this has the risk of him staying at the ladder and firing at us without a chance for sentinel to trigger because he's out of Cat's reach. Hmm, Yulya should decide.

Haa, if we had War and Peace with us, I'd just throw a bag over the skull when he comes up and take him home. He'll fall asleep if covered.

damned Alice once again you made me blurt out my drink from laughing!

ok we got approval from Yulya to follow your idea! Yulya stays where she is then Cat 5ft moved to the left then Alice

unless Joy has already worked out someting for the previous formation then just leave it. you can continue the game!

You need to state your moves, I suppose I wasn't clear. I presume you moved to these locations, if you are doing nothing else then I'll continue.

Because the Flaming Skull has initiative, I'll continue.

Well, you said we can't do anything else than choose a position.
[You each may choose a location within 30ft of the ladder before the skull can arrive at the ladder, but due to the order of events, take no further actions until the start of next round. The Skull has initiative.]

That didn't turn out so well, I didn't expect it to go kaboom. Not bad...
So what do we do now? If we go down we face the same problem as before. I propose we just wait up here but out of range of the kaboom. Either the skull comes up, then it gets a boosted spell from Yulya. Or it stays down then we rest.

You made me realize that I was being unfair. Here you are, nearly level 5 and unmaimed!

You thought my encounters were too easy, and I agree. Should I add that hoard of hyper intelligent goblins now Alice? Just asking.

Oh, what about the bulettes, should they be digging to you about now since that fireball made so much vibration? Hmmm, so many wonderful options.

well shit i certainly didnt foresee that. in contrast to us the skull isnt dumb.
i agree going down now would be even dumber. theres a reason those bandits fled. without Ashley we are lacking half of our fighting force and Yulya is almost out of mp. defeating just the skull will be near impossible in our state even without bulettes and supergoblins. but lets just see if and what comes up here.
