What's best award for cat?

Today cat got thoroughly wet while play online bingo watering the garden because she has far too much confidence in me. Just like with getting stepped on. Cat assumes I see her and certainly would not harm her so there's no need to move out of the way. But often I doesn't. Cat is well camouflaged and loves to sit in obscure places - or right behind me. Also cat doesn't understand I can't see equally well in the dark.

However cat apparently understands very well that such unfortunate events are accidents and not intended so she isn't mad at me. And I step on cat a lot.

She's cute!

My cat destroyed a rabbit and I saw it all and I'd never seen this side of him before and now I respect him even more
Not bad!
We should never forget that cats are dangerous predators no matter how harmless they look.
Some years ago the neighbors had built an outdoor habitat for their childrens bunnies and guinea pigs. It consisted of a fenced piece of meadow with a smaller rabbit barn made of wood and mesh wire as a shelter. Padded with hay and wood shavings, really cozy. Soon the number of bunnies appeared to have doubled until I realized that three neighbor cats had taken over the shelter and were sleeping in the hay, blocking the entrance for the original inhabitants so they had to stay outside. It was a rabbit barn stuffed full of cats. Especially the guinea pigs were pissed and tried to force their way in but the cat blocking the entrance had no interest in moving. Dunno how this was resolved in the end. I guess the cats eventually got bored and found a new place but every now and then one could be seen sleeping inside as additional 'bunny'. My cat was also in there a couple of times, but apart from the gate-crashing no pig or bunny was ever harmed. And we have lots of predators that could easily have killed 'em all. So maybe having the cats around wasn't so bad after all.

Sounds eerily accurate.
I fear someday I'll end up as prey as well.

Cat went missing a few days ago.
Was gone for 2 days and nights which is highly unusual when it's cold outside. I was really worried as cat rarely leaves the proximity of the house, usually staying in the garden or visiting the neighbors. But noone had seen her. First I thought I had locked her in some drawer, cupboard, the cellar or attic or something which does happen but that lead to nothing. So I went through the neighborhood in the early morning already fearing for the worst as cat is old. But cat was gone. After an hour I returned home where cat was already waiting in front of the door. No idea where she was but I'm glad she's back.
Now having a purring contest with neighbor cat, both sitting on the couch next to me.

If you have an outdoor cat, one day they won't come back. You might be able to find them, but they won't be alive.

The truth about cats and dogs is that they die.

And yet no cat I know has died outside. All at home or the vet. But enough of sad stories.
Awkward cat poses!

Most frequent I see is the one in the middle. Caterpillar or slug style. And the one below lying twisted on the back, often legs spread out in different positions, mouth opened. Looks scary as fuck.

I tend to have the roadkill position during summer when the floor is both cool in the shade and warm where the sun hits it. Sometimes he'll stretch on the edge to get both at the same time. What a beast.

Neighbor is on holiday so neighbor cat is staying with me most of the time, dwelling in a small cardboard box like Diogenes in his barrel.
Actually it was said to be a large ceramic jar as they didn't have barrels in ancient greece. The more you know.

He loves boxes even more than my cat who's mostly sleeping on the couch or in my bed now.
We also had the first snow of the season, I feel cats are baffled every time that happens like seeing it for the first time. Racing around in the snow like crazy until they realize it's actually cold and wet, then shaking paws and running back inside.

Boxes are great. You should probably add more boxes.
